Hello again. I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas. I decided to give myself a break from writing reviews for a couple days over the holiday but now I’m back at it. This time I’m going to try to provide you with a fair and honest review on the BP Mods LABS MTL RTA that was sent to me by Dovpo. This one has a bit of a different design to it compared to anything I’ve seen before. The LABS is a 22mm rta with a 2.7ml liquid capacity. It has a single coil post less build deck and comes with six different airflow pins for airflow adjustment since there is no external airflow control ring on this one. It is designed strictly as a MTL rta even with the largest airflow pin inserted. I’ll talk later about the difference in design that I spoke about earlier.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

I was not able to find out much information on this tank so please bear with me and I will do as well as I can to cover the features of this rta. The packaging for the LABS is the usual BP Mods orange box with a sleeve over the outside of the box. The sleeve has the name of the rta as well as the statement “Above Any Idea” with a picture of the coloseum in the background. The back side of the box has a contents list, some features, company information, and a sketch of the tank stating the color of the tank inside. I received the DLC version which is basically a gunmetal color.

Once the outer sleeve and box top are removed then the LABS RTA is visible with three inner bell caps and an accessory box on the side that contains the spare airflow pins, tool for changing the pins and bell inserts, three different coils, and spare o rings.

As always, it’s a good idea to disassemble the tank and clean it before use. This one is a little different to take apart. The deck is held in but o rings and does not have any threading. Also the top cap turns to the right instead of to the left like most tanks. It is a bayonet type design but the direction of turning is opposite of what I’m used to. You can see both sides of the top cap in the second picture below. In the third picture you can see that by turning the top cap to the right it actually closes the internal juice flow openings and when you turn to the left you can feel it turn to open the juice flow ports and locks the cap in place.

Besides the differences I’ve mentioned already, there is another feature that is different from anything I’ve seen. There are four different flavoring bells included in the kit that are supposed to optimize the flavor depending on the type of liquid you are using whether it’s a tobacco, dessert, or other type. The only one I really noticed much of a difference with was the multi-stepped one recommended for tobacco flavors which I used a NET tobacco mix in use for testing. The flavoring bells are replaced using the included tool and you just push the old one out with the tool and push the new one into place over the two juice flow pins.

This rta uses a gravity feed liquid supply system through two tubes that feed the liquid to the wick. Because of this type of feeding system, you need to make sure the shoulders of the wick are a little high to meet up with the tubes once the tank is assembled. The picture below shows the liquid flow tubes and you can see the pre-installed flavoring bell. You want to keep close track of the included tool. It is needed for replacing the flavoring bells as well as for removing and inserting one of the included six airflow pins. The airflow pin has to be inserted before installing the coil but you can try out the different inserts to determine which is best for you before actually installing the coil and wick. Each of the airflow pins has two flat sides that align with the notches on the tool to allow you to thread the inserts into place. The airflow pins are the only airflow control on this tank. There is an airflow opening on the bottom of the tank but it is not adjustable.

The build deck is a very simple single coil deck and very easy to build. Once the coil is inserted and the legs are trimmed then install the cotton paying close attention to the height of the shoulders of the wick. The shoulders need to be a little high to meet up with the juice flow tubes that I mentioned earlier. Once the coil and wick are installed and you are ready to assemble the deck and body of the rta then there is a notch in the build deck that aligns with the tab in the body to lock the base into place and keep it from turning. As I mentioned earlier, there is no threading on the base and the build deck is simply held in place by two o rings.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I think that BP Mods really came up with some ingenious design ideas on this rta. It would never occur to me to have different flavor bells for different liquids. The multi-step tobacco bell is the one that really stood out to me. I initially tried the pre-installed one with a NET tobacco mix and then switched the bells out finally settling on the multi-step one with my NET mix.

It seems foreign to me to not have an adjustable airflow on the outside of the tank but this one doesn’t. It’s all done with the airflow control pins that have to be threaded into the build deck. I don’t love that the pins cannot be changed once the coil is installed. For me it would have been able to be changed after the coil is installed.

The tank section on the LABS rta is rather dark which makes it difficult to see the liquid level. With only a 2.7ml capacity it would be nice to be able to keep better track of the liquid level. One other thing that I didn’t love was that when the top cap is removed to fill the tank, you don’t have fill ports but have to pour the liquid around the side of the center tube and it’s a little difficult to tell the liquid level while filling.

I didn’t try all of the airflow control pins because I know that I prefer a loose MTL vape and immediately went with the largest airflow pin. With this pin it is still an MTL type of vape but is quite loose like I like it. You aren’t going to be able to do an RDL with this tank.

Overall the LABS is a great MTL rta that should fit the needs of all of those that like MTL vaping. It has some really neat designs and functions well. The flavor production on my NET liquid was very good with this tank. I’d like to thank Dovpo and Dorothy for sending the BP Mods LABS MTL RTA for this review. Thanks also to the readers as always. I'm almost 49 and live in Maryland. I'm a single father living with my 17yr old daughter. A year before my daughter was born, I struggled with a serious ...... problem. Once I found out that I would become a father, I decided that I needed a way to stay clean, forever. I knew that I didn't want to get on methadone because I felt that would basically be still getting high. So after talking to a couple specialists, I decided to take Suboxone. Believe it or not, I haven't used any opioids for over 18 years. Suboxone saved my life. About 6 years ago I decided to slowly ween myself off of the Suboxone. Once off, the withdrawal wasn't as intense as a full blown ...... addiction, but the symptoms lasted much longer. I was sick for over 2 weeks with my sleep being non-existent for the following 2 months. The third month off Suboxone I noticed I was getting seriously depressed. I started thinking about getting high again (......), so I made the decision to get back on Suboxone, to which I'm still on it to this day.

Although Suboxone isn't a true opioid, it still constipates like that of regular opioid use. Over the last year, this constipation has become debilitating, so much so, it's landed me in the hospital. Being backed up all the time has left me with pain all over my abdomen. I've been to gastro specialists, tried every laxative known to man, both over and under the counter, to castor oil and senna products. Today, I practically live on Miralax. Lately, I'm finding these products no longer are as effective as they once were.

Back to my daughter and how all this fits in. Almost 2 years ago, when she was 16, she came home with red, bloodshot eyes. Because I used to smoke-up, I knew exactly what she was up to. Luckily my daughter and I have a trusting relationship, so I asked her if she was smoking pot, and she admitted it. At that time, she said it was her first time; so that was the end of it. Fast forward 1 - 1/2 years. One day I noticed, she had that unmistakable stupefied look on her face, this time without the tell tale red eyes. Obviously she wised up and used Visine. So I asked her if she was smoking pot. To which she said, "kinda". I asked her what kind she was smoking... Her answer confused me because I only could make out half of what she said. She said it was a sativa strand of THC-P. She continued to pull out a pink pen with the word "Cake" on it.

Because I'm a father first, I didn't feel comfortable with my 17yr old daughter, who's in her senior year of high school, getting high all the time. So I made her a deal. I explained to her that if she wants to get high on the weekends that would be okay, as long as she was making good choices, not getting into trouble, and staying safe. I told her she could get the pen on Friday after all her homework was completed and then at 8pm on Sunday evening she gives the pen back to me. After agreeing, she said, "you know, there's probably a medicinal purpose for the medical issues you're going through."

So there I am, in my room on a weekday, backed up beyond belief, in dire straights with pain; so I google the benefits of marijuana for people with chronic constipation. And sure enough, I found recent studies that show marijuana can help people with chronic constipation and the pain associated with it.

I must confess, I haven't smoked pot for almost 20 years. Back when I did smoke, I only smoked the good stuff,KB, not that garbage swag. I could look at the buds and tell by sight if it were good or not. Today, I have no idea what's good. Further, how was I supposed to know if whatever was sitting in my lockbox was good or not? At this point, I'm holding the pen in my hand, examining it. I laugh. "It's got a USB port." WTF?!?! lol. At this point, I was thinking that there must be a "safety button" to activate it. So I pull on it like I was smoking a blunt. Hitting, hitting again, hitting again with a long pull. Finally, I noticed realizing the damn thing is glowing and the back of my throat is burning.

At this point I realized that whatever it was, I was getting high. In my room, I was watching the series Vikings on Prime for the hundredth time when I became fixated on the soundtrack playing in the background. My god it sounded so.... hypnotic, psychedelic, Good! It sounded like one of my older psybient tracks on vinyl playing at 33RPM instead of the intended 45RPM. (If that makes sense to any of you). I was completely fixated on it, and when it finally ended, I felt a massive shift in my abdomen area. It was a feeling common to most people, but for me, it's a feeling that's escaped me ever since the chronic constipation begun. I knew exactly what was happening. My guts were rolling! On the way to the bathroom, I distinctly remember saying to myself, "YES! YES!" Of course, I'll spare you all the details of my bowel movement. But I will say this. All my pain was gone. When I left the bathroom, I felt good. Yes. Yes, because I was high, but also because that was the first REAL bowel movement in months. I was mystified by this. The rest of the night I continued watching Vikings with a new sense of wonder and purpose.

Hopefully everyone can see where I'm going with this. What did I smoke? Where can I get another one? And what was it? Was it Δ8, Δ9, Δ10, THC 0, THC P? I like the idea that the pen doesn't "smell" up the room afterward. Can anyone help me out here?

The double-injected plastic material makes the Doric Q light as a feather and aesthetically appealing with a beautiful sheen. The shapes are smooth and fluid, the reduced diameter enhances the handling qualities. On the body of Doric Q there is a single "VooPoo" writing, above this writing there is the only LED light that sends notifications as follows:
• During the battery recharging phase, the LED light is fixed blue.
• When the battery has been recharged, the LED light is steady green.
• During use, the LED light is green.
• When the pod is inserted into the device the green light flashes once
• When the battery power is low, the green light flashes 10 times
• When the extraction time limit is reached, the green light flashes 2 times
• When a short circuit occurs, the green light flashes 1 time

Doric Q's chipset makes it safe to use with the following security features:

Doric Q can be recharged and kept standing, the 800mAh battery recharge time is about 50 minutes. Above the charging port you can see the only airflow that has a size compatible with MTL type vaping.



There are 3 prominent battery safety vent holes on the bottom of the Doric Q.



The pod compartment contains the spring-loaded and gold-plated contact pins, and there is also the sensor for the automatic puff raised above the bottom. The cartridge uses a simplified interlocking system without magnets, the graft is quite effective. Before using the cartridge, remove the protective sticker. Doric Q is compatible with VOOPOO ITO-X cartridges and Doric 20 cartridges. The chipset of Doric Q is able to support 0.7Ω/1.0Ω/1.2Ω Ito carthridges.





The DORIC Q Kit features the newly released VOOPOO ITO cartridge with a pre-installed 1.0Ω coil supported by VOOPOO ITO atomization technology for MTL vaping. It is a cartridge with a small circular design, the drip-tip is fixed and non-replaceable, filling takes place laterally. The "ITO Anti-Leakage Structure" system of this cartridge provides two slots with an internal air passage to a rather elaborate cavity, this proven solution effectively protects the Mod from the condensation of the electronic liquid.



► VooPoo Doric Q; Vape Test and Final Conclusions:
For this test I used "crispy puft" aroma diluted 10% in a 50:50 PG/VG base with 3mg/ml boost. The 1.0Ω Disposable VooPoo Ito (2ml) cartridge seems to reflect the declared power data (12W), the extraction is of the MTL type, perfectly balanced in my opinion. The steam is hot at the right point and there are no spitting or condensation phenomena even after intense use. The integrated 1.0Ω resistance is able to effectively convey the flavor, also emphasizes the nicotine present in the e-liquid. Consumption is quite low, also according to VooPoo a cartridge lasts up to 10 days of vape before being recycled. Ultimately Doric Q is a pocket and stealthy vaporizer, really comfortable to carry, the 800mAh battery recharges in a short time and offers a good vape autonomy. Its appearance is lovable and its purchase price will certainly be interesting and convenient.
