Once again I have a very pleasant flavour from Decadent Vapour, a citrusy lime zinger with notes of zest. The flavour has a very strong lime aroma that really smells like real fruit. It tastes like a simple flavor, which is not just about the lime, but about the soda, limey, fizzy sensation that the flavor gives you. The lime is a bit sour, not bitter, with a hint of sweetness that gives it a lemony effect. You can feel the soda part of it on the exhale, it really does feel like you're bubbling in your mouth with all the bubbles. It feels fresh, but there's no cooling. The special oily taste of the lime almost clings to the roof of your mouth, which you can feel for minutes afterwards. Its more acidic taste gives you a summery taste to enjoy all day long. You get about 60ml of finished liquid at the recommended mixing ratio, which is good value for money. After steaming this amount, the cotton wool remains snow white, so it can be used in an atomizer tank. All in all, you get a delicious lime lemonade with a pleasant refreshing acidity. It's definitely worth a try for fruit lovers, I think you won't be disappointed.

I know you won’t believe this but yes I’m back with another review for you. This time I will be attempting to do my best to provide a fair and honest review on the Voopoo Argus P1 Pod Kit that was sent to me by Voopoo. The Argus P1 is another pod device in a long line of pod kits from Voopoo. This time Voopoo has decided to use the somewhat popular square body design that we’ve seen used by other companies. The P1 has an internal 800mah battery with an output range of 5-20 watts depending on the resistance of the coil inside the pod used. One of the main features of the P1 is the PD fast charging. It can charge from 0-100% in about 18 minute and uses the Gene. AI 1.2 chipset. How nice is that? It also has adjustable airflow which is a plus in my book and uses the ITO Atomization Technology that we have seen from Voopoo before. The pods are compatible with the Argus Pod.




WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

I wasn’t aware that there were two different versions until the P1 was actually released onto the Voopoo website. The kit I received was the standard set with the pods that you cannot change the coil on.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the Argus P1 is a little different than the normal two part box with an outer sleeve covering it. The packaging on this one has a pull tab that allows you to slide the inner box portion out of the box from the side. On the front is a nice color picture of the P1 with a very large warning below it. I’ve seen this type of large warning on another product before and am wondering if it has something to do with the regulations here in the U.S.. The back of the box has a list of the contents, two more warnings, a scratch off authenticity code, a bar code with the name of the color of device contained inside, and company information for Shenzhen Woody Vapes Technology(Voopoo).

One side of the box has some QR codes that you can scan with your phone to find out more about the product while the other side has a list of some of the features of the Argus P1.

Once you pull the cardboard tab and slide the tray out of the box then there is a box on top that contains the accessories and has the Voopoo name printed on it. Underneath sits the very nice looking Argus P1 with a pod already installed. I received the gunmetal version for my review. Inside the accessory box there is a second pod, a USB-C charging cable, a lanyard, and the user manual. It’s refreshing to get a pod kit with a second pod/coil for a change. Many I’ve reviewed recently only contained one coil or pod.

What I’m going to call the front of the P1 has the Argus name stamped into the body with the lettering in gold and gold screws. It gives a really nice aesthetic in my opinion. In the picture on the left you can see a gold colored loop sticking up which is where you would attach the included lanyard if you choose to use it. There is a clear section on one end where you can see the Gene name and some of the electronics. When I received it there was a clear film over it to protect it during shipping. The main body of the P1 is made of zinc alloy while the clear section is made of PC.

The back side has the Voopoo name in gold and you can see where the lanyard ring goes into the body through the clear section. You can also view more of the electronics through the clear portion.

One side of the P1 has a sliding airflow control that will allow you to go from very tight MTL to RDL. Below that is the USB-C fast charging port that will allow you to charge the 800mah battery from 0-100% in about 18 minutes. That’s two pluses in my book. Fast charging and adjustable airflow control. To me, adjustable airflow has become an important feature on a pod device. Some I’ve tried are a good fit for airflow but some are not so I think it’s always better to have an airflow adjustment built in like Voopoo has done here.

It’s a little hard to see but the P1 has four indicator lights in the front clear section seen in the second picture below. I took a second picture while it was charging so you could see the bright indicator lights that show the power and battery level as well as the Gene name that can be seen below. The P1 is auto draw only with no buttons at all so it would be very difficult to get a shot of the lights while taking a puff. The battery level can be seen by removing and replacing the pod. The light indicators for the battery level are as follows.

• One light = 1-25%
• Two lights = 25-50%
• Three lights = 51-75%
• Four lights = 76-100%

When charging the lights will flash in succession as the battery level increases and eventually all four lights will stay lit when it is fully charged. When in use there are a few other indications. The higher the output then the more lights will light. When the battery level is less than 25% the light will turn red. The safety indications are as follows.

• Low battery: Indicator light flashes red 10 times
• Short circuit: Indicator light flashes red 2 times
• Time out: Indicator light flashes red 8 times
• Temp High: Indicator light flashes red 15 times

The pod opening has two magnets that hold the pod in securely. There are also the usual two gold plated spring loaded contacts and a raised airflow intake opening. The pre-installed pod comes with a clear film over it to keep from accidental firing before it is filled with liquid.

It's now asking for my credit card info which I don't want to give, even though I'm curious to see the next screen and find out the fees they tacked on. I knew $9.99 for a 100 ml was too good to be true. Does anyone know of a cheap online seller that doesn't add any fees other than shipping??

Among the countless Pod devices that continue to saturate the market relentlessly, it is vital for manufacturers to stay on top of implementing the performance and functions of their devices. From a technical point of view, VooPoo is second to none and has always meticulously cared for the aesthetic / artistic part of its products, inspiring competitors also on the path of design to follow.



When I first saw Argus P1 I was reminded of Drag 2 Nano a vaporizer that has made school in this type of entry level with "pocket" design. But with Argus P1 an absolutely excellent aesthetic and finishing level has been reached, judge the image below that depicts Argus p1 and Drag Nano 2.



VooPoo Argus P1 is a small object designed in a futuristic mechanical style, the half metal and half transparent device combines robustness and sophisticated elegance. its body is modeled with gentle and well-connected curves that give a natural sensation to the touch and a delicate grip.



All the elements that make up Argus P1 blend together in harmony; the transparent part reveals the refined internal circuit. The body of the transparent Mod matches the equally transparent and crystalline cartridge. The other 50% of the P1 body in Gun Metal color is made up of solid and smooth metal, enriched with details in sparkling gold color, which are; the French screws, the words "ARGUS", "VOOPOO" and the handle to fasten the cord.



► VooPoo Argus P1; AFC control:
The slider button for adjusting the air flow has a short excursion, but fully sufficient to give the Argus P1 a perfectly adjustable MTL shot in an arc that goes from completely closed up to trespassing into the RDL with the 0.7Ω coil . In addition, the key with its metal solidity is well braked during adjustment and perfectly maintains the set position.



► VooPoo Argus P1; PD Fast Charge:
The ARGUS P1's 4-level LED with its soft, clear light monitors performance and keeps you informed of what's going on. The fast charging speed takes advantage of the PD protocol and is able to complete the operation in just 18 minutes from 0 to 100%. According to the laboratory data detected by vooPoo, the 1.2Ω coil after a charge of only 5 minutes is able to support 2 hours of vaping.





► VooPoo Argus P1; Led & Notifications:
The GENE AI 1.2 chip interfaces with an advanced LED system that shows the output power in real time through luminous bars, to view the battery charge level you can remove the cartridge at any time, and up to 4 luminous bars, will be shown horizontal as follows:
• 1 White Led on; the battery charge level is between 1 and 25%
• 2 White LEDs on; the battery charge level is between 25 and 50%
• 3 white LEDs on; the battery charge level is between 51 and 75%
• 4 white LEDs on; the battery charge level is between 76 and 100%.

During recharging, the white indicator lights flash and the scale from 1 to 4 LEDs is completed progressively. At the end of the recharge, the 4 white LEDs remain bright and steady. The Bypass circuit simulates the "mech" behavior therefore during use the number of white LEDs on also quantifies the power delivered, when the percentage of battery charge is less than 25% the LED will turn red.

Furthermore, the LED has the task of sending notifications on the operation of the device and on the active safety protections as follows:
• 2 Red Led Flashes; a short circuit was detected
• 8 Red Led Flashes; the continuous activation limit has been reached (8s)
• 10 Red Led Flashes; the battery is low and needs to be recharged
• 15 Red Led Flashes; the card temperature is too high.



► VooPoo Argus P1; Above/ Under:
The bottom base of Argus P1 is wide enough to offer a stable position of the mod vertically, even during the charging phase.
The upper base houses the handle for connecting the lanyard on the transparent part. The Compartment / Pod contains the contact pins and the sensor for the automatic activation of the puffs. The two magnets are mirrored to those on the bottom of the cartridge and are quite strong.



► VooPoo Argus P1; Disposable Pod:
The cartridge made of transparent PCTG has an ergonomic lip spout and allows you to perfectly view the liquid inside. The filling is done by lifting a side silicone rubber, the hole of good size allows you to easily insert up to 2ml of e-liquid. On the bottom of the cartridge there are 4 holes for the passage of air to the coil, according to VooPoo this system expands the air flow that affects the coil globally, increasing the flavor, furthermore the 4 holes are an integral part of the antileaking system present at the inside the cartridge itself. On the bottom of the cartridge we can see that the magnets are not visible, in fact they are there and they work quite well. The Argus P1 cartridge is compatible with ARGUS POD and the leak proof system is made up of high quality silicone gaskets that guarantee airtight seal against air infiltrations and proven reliability against leaks.



► VooPoo Argus P1; Vaping test & final conclusions:
The new Argus P1 is definitely a comfortable, well-built and eye-catching Pod device. The new GENE.AI 1.2 Chip has reached perfection as regards the management of the "automatic puff" which has always been the Achilles' heel of these devices! In fact, a slight extraction is enough to activate the Puff instantly and with any degree of opening of the airflow. The AI 1.2 chip GENE automatically adjusts each puff and increases or decreases the output according to the pressure exerted on each puff to save energy and maximize battery life. In addition, the 4-level led provides simple full control for the 800mAh battery. In the package there are two ITO disposable Pods, one of 1.2 and one of 0.7Ω both are dedicated to MTL vaping, my favorite is the 0.7Ω one because it provides greater Hit and heat, but I think both are able to really please everyone because they provide exemplary and spitting-free operation, in fact after a very intense use of these cartridges I have not detected any trace of condensation in the compartment / pod. I honestly think this is really all that could be expected from Argus P1 because in the entry-level category this kit is absolutely capable of dominating the scene.

► Freemax Galex & Galex Nano; First Impressions:
The two devices in addition to sharing the same name (Galex) have many characteristics in common, which is why I decided to enclose them together in a single review. Of course, the form factor changes; Galex is a classic "stick" while Galex Nano resembles a small stylish case with a lanyard attachment. Both have the same built-in 800mAh battery, with Type-C charging port, for a charging time of about 40 minutes. Furthermore, the cartridges as well as the coils are interchangeable. The technical diversion factor between the two Galex is represented by the fact that Galex stick has an output range between 11 and 16 watts according to the battery charge level, while Galex Nano develops a power between 11 and 22 watts which are adjustable on 3 different power levels. So completely different form factor, a small technical difference, but the same objectives which are to give the user excellent MTL performance, maximum compactness, and great portability.



► Freemax Galex; Design & Led:
The classic "Stick" design of Galex shows on the main side a huge dark-colored LED display with the writing "Galex" in white in the center, and a small LED for notifications. On the back the only decoration is represented by a small writing "Freemax". On the sides of the Galex there are two small MTL holes for the passage of air, one hole on each side. As previously mentioned the Galex Pod has a single battery light with three different colors that light up depending on the battery level as follows:

• Green Led: Battery charge level between 70 and 100%
• Blue Led: Battery charge level between 35 and 70%
• Red Led: Battery charge level between 0 and 35%



The spectacular part is played by the large LED display, and it does so with a lighting worthy of a Christmas tree, in fact you can choose between:
• Lighting off.
• Unicolor display
• Multicolor display
You can vary these three options by simply arming / disarming the pod twice within 3 seconds.



► Freemax Galex Nano; Design & Led:
The "artistic" form factor of the Galex Nano is quite remarkable, and is also accompanied by an excellent sturdy feel due to a significantly heavier weight than galex stick. One of the two panels of Galex Nano implements a large transparent window with an octagonal design, through this window it is possible to see the internal chipset illuminated by a cascade of phantasmagoric colors. The opposite panel has a more humble aspect, in fact it does not have any decoration. The profile of Galex Nano is ultra-flat and on what I will call "the main narrow side" there is a small hole for the passage of air and a multifunction button that allows you to activate the mod also manually. By clicking the button once; you can check the battery level as follows:
• Green Led: Battery charge level between 70 and 100%
• Blue Led: Battery charge level between 35 and 70%
• Red Led: Battery charge level between 0 and 35%



Also in this case the luminous "galaxy" is reproduced by the Display, this time in combination with the use of the key you can change the lighting options. Also with the button you can change the power level, or turn the Galex Nano on / off.
• Press the button twice to change the Led mode from unicolor to multicolor or off
• Press the button three times to adjust the output levels (shown in the second image below)
Press the button five times to turn the device on / off.





► Freemax Galex & Galex Nano; Above under:
On the bottom of Galex and Galex Nano you find the USB-C charging socket and the same information regarding the internal 800mAh battery which is identical for both Mods. So you can fully recharge Galex and Galex Nano in about 40 minutes.

Obviously Galex and Galex Nano share the same compartment / pod design because they use the same and identical cartridges. Inside the compartment / pod there are; two contacts, two magnets and two raised air vents. On the upper base of Galex Nano you will find the name printed in white and two openings to thread a cord if you want to hang the device around your neck.



Galex cartridges are transparent for optimal internal visual control. The cartridges contain up to 2ml of e-liquid which is refillable from the top after removing the spout. The removable spout also provides protection for children, and the cartridges are equipped with FM Leak Resistant technology with "Maze Chimney design" to prevent leaks. In the second image below you can see the filling operation which can be conveniently performed without taking out the cartridges from the mods, the red gasket above the filling port prevents leaks during filling. The lower part of the cartridges has two magnets which are mirrored to those of the Mod. The coils are inserted from the bottom with a slight pressure after having aligned the flat parts in the recess of the respective cartridges.





► Freemax Galex & Galex Nano; GX Mesh Coils:
Galex and Galex Nano include the same Mesh Coils in their respective kits; one is the GX 0.8Ω for RDL which is rated for 13-18W and the other is the GX 1.0Ω for MTL with 12-16W range, Freemax plans to release new GX coils options in the future.



► Freemax Galex & Galex Nano; Vaping test & final conclusions:

• 0.8Ω GX Mesh Coil:
I liked this coils installed on Galex Nano a lot because with the highest power level (Green 4.2V) it has good RDL performance, the puff is not too loose, the flavor is concentrated and the hit in the throat is satisfying. The same coil installed on the Galex Stick has a slightly different behavior and seems more in tune with the MTL vaping mode, this is due to the fact that Galex has a constant power delivery at a "softer" level than the Galex nano. In addition, the airflow of Galex is more restricted than that of Galex Nano.

• 1.0Ω GX Mesh Coil:
This option looks perfect for the Galex and its restricted MTL airflow, however I also quite like it with the Galex Nano with the medium power level selected (Blue 3.5V). It seems that the FM SaltCoilTech 4.0 technology of these GX Coils also works quite well with my VG / PG 50:50 e-liquids, the flavor is pure, there are no spitbacks and condensation is zero. Freemax claims that with the GX coils you will be able to fill the cartridge at least 10 times before the flavor starts to degrade, I believe this statement is honest and that it is definitely an achievable result.

You may not be interested in the fantastic "Full Spectrum" lights that Galex and Galex Nano are able to offer you, but fear not these lights can be safely disabled on both Mods. If you are looking for Pod devices that have features that stand out in this immense ocean of Pods that the Chinese industry offers us, I can tell you that Galex is an excellent option for MTL, with a classic design and the only automatic activation of the puff. Galex nano is more refined and captivating in appearance and has the double activation of the puff with 3 selectable power steps that allow you the same MTL performance but more power in RDL mode. So calmly choose the Galex Pod Mod you prefer, I believe you will be satisfied.
