Hey everyone,
I’m new(ish) to vaping, mostly been using prebuilt coils in MTL tanks with integrated battery mods. I’m trying to get a little more advanced setup to gather more control over flavor, etc. so this weekend I may have gone over the top and bought a crap ton of RTAs and RDAs and some building supplies, which made me realizing I should probably get a new mod (not that I NEED it but I want it ).

so my current thought is Either a Lost Vape Thelema or Centaurus. I’m looking at these as they are DNA250c mods, so AFAIK I can run 18650 LIFEPO4s natively (with a change in escribe). For batteries I’m looking at A123 18650 cells from battery source (they are reputable from what I read)

this will be for MTL with 0.8-1.2 coils under 20w.

Might seem like overkill but I have an “irrational” fear of lipos and as an engineer at least an additional safety redundancy at an acceptable trade off is never a bad thing

Also my current rebuildable tanks seem to have a weird behavior compared to my prebuilt ones where the first hit or two are pretty dull, but that is likely user error as I’m still trying to dial them in, and this is the first time putting together/wicking a rebuildable.

so my question is, is this setup doable, and any suggestions on changes? Other mods that support lifepo? Or at least controlled 18650s?

So yesterday i picked up a Uwell Caliburn G with extra coils, pods and liquids. When i filled up the first pod, it leaked out of the air hole (while i filled up the pod correctly!). I went back and showed the shop, they gave me a new pod. I filled up the new pod, installed a new coil, i left it sitting to prime. i used it after two hours of priming, and i immediately got a dry hit, almost no flavour and very hot air. I’m thinking of sending it back to get my money back. Is there anyone that has experience with this?

I must say they look very good together. A pair of truly stylish accessories.

Lets check what are the Improvements: (compared to the original Vilter)

First thing you will notice is the addition of the 0.69in OLED screen, this displays your battery status and puff counter / time.

• The Vilter S Pod Mod brings with it some new features that make it better than the previous version. The built-in battery is 500mah and guarantees a longer life. On the side there is a practical display that allows you to always keep the battery and the number of Puffs under control.
Thanks to a new button, inserted on the side of the VILTER S, it is possible to decide whether to use the automatic shooting or to limit it to pressing the button itself.

I'm not 100% sure but seems like it's a first vape device that will have a Powerbank with a possibility to create a single unit with a 500+1600=2100 mAh capacity.

Comparison with the original Vilter:

Size wise they are almost the same. Pods are identical and can be replaced between the models + you can use both plastic and paper drip tips on both of them which is great as I believe the paper drip option is very important for the smokers who are doing their first steps on quitting/switching to vaping. The mouthfeel of a paper drip tip is what they are used to and it's very important to many people, especially the older ones with years of smoking experience behind them. If you have such friends/relatives who tried switching before but failed, I strongly recommend you to try one of Vilter devices with paper filters - good chances they will help to ease the switch. to

Pros:
Quality made by Aspire
Great concept with nice design (led, PB option)
2100 mAh battery with a PB - great kit for trips
Great option for current smokers who wish to switch to vaping

Cons:
Not much to mention but there was a funny moment while testing.
The Original Vilter kit was "ready from the box" with a draw activation.
When I took the S version, added some e-liquid, plugged the pod and tried it with both draw and a button, nothing happened. I though maybe the battery was discharged but it was at 66%. I was like what may be wrong here?
And then I finally remembered that you need to turn it on with 5 clicks first and it started to work

My Final Thoughts on Vilter S + PB combo:

I'm not sure about the retail prices for this combo but I'm sure that they will be affordable (original Vilter kit now costs around 15$)
It's a very nice improvement to the original Vilter kit which I still like btw.
PowerBank option is great and you don't have to think about looking for charging spot and leaving your device during the charging time, you just plug your device and you charge/use it on the go. Good work Aspire and congrats with the renewed Logo

Try this one in SKE Crystal Bar Disposable Vape Kit 600 puffs 500mAh

The Molicel 45B hits as hard as the Samsung 30T at the start and then hits harder and runs for longer than the 30T as you continue to vape.

These tests below only note my personal ESTIMATED ratings for the batteries I tested at the time I tested them. Any battery that is not a genuine Samsung, Sony, Murata, LG, Panasonic, Molicel, or Sanyo can change at any time! This is one of the hazards of using “rewrapped” or batteries from other manufacturers so carefully research any battery you are considering using before purchasing.

Misusing or mishandling lithium-ion batteries can pose a SERIOUS RISK of property damage, personal injury, or even death. They should never be used outside of a fully protected battery pack and you use them at your own risk. Never exceed the battery’s true continuous discharge rating (CDR), never let it get colder than 0°C or hotter than 60°C, and keep the plastic wrap and top insulating ring in perfect condition. Never use a battery that is physically damaged in any way.

Testing batteries at their limits is dangerous and should never be attempted by anyone who has not thoroughly studied the dangers involved, understands the risks, has the proper equipment, and takes all appropriate safety precautions.

If the battery has only one current rating number, or if it only says "max", then I have to assume the battery is rated at that current level for any type of discharge, including continuous.




Test Results
I tested these cells in January for my Patreon supporters and have been torture testing them along with the Molicel P42A and the Samsung 40T since then. With the release of the Molicel P45B hopefully coming soon it’s finally time to post some test results. The cycle life torture test results will remain patron-only though.

The Molicel P45B is an extraordinary cell, matching or outperforming almost every other round cell I have tested at all current levels. The official word is that it will be available before the end of the year but there have been a couple of rumors that some vendors will have it by Summer. I can’t predict who will have it or when.

Compared to the Molicel P42A, the P45B is supposed to have about 7% more capacity, 22% lower DC internal resistance (DC IR), and a higher charge rate. Its main competitor is supposed to be the Samsung 50S.

In my testing the P45B was a better performer in every way over the Molicel P42A:

• The P45B had almost 9% higher capacity.
• The P45B had about 33% lower DC IR (at 100% charge).
• The P45B’s charge rates are 4.5A standard/13.5A max (70°C cutoff) and the P42A’s are 4.2A standard/8.4A max (60°C cutoff).
• The P45B had longer run times at all discharge current levels.

The P42A is still a great cell! It’s just that in the four years or so we’ve been using it battery tech has improved and the P45B is a perfect example of that.

Compared to the Samsung 50S…

• The P45B has about 7%-8% less run time at 5A and 10A.
• The P45B runs for longer though at about 15A and higher.
• The P45B has a 26% lower DC IR (at 100% charge).
• The P45B runs MUCH cooler at moderate to high current levels.
• The P45B has a higher standard and max charge rating (2.5A/6A for the Samsung 50S).

So while the Samsung 50S had slightly longer run times at 10A or lower, due to its higher capacity, the Molicel P45B beats it in every other way in my opinion. The P45B will easily be my choice for best all-around performing round cell and also my #1 choice for moderate to high power applications.

The preliminary datasheet only lists a “temperature-limited” rating of 50A. Molicel says you can run this cell at 50A but only if it never reaches a temperature of 80°C (hot!).

You cannot run the P45B at 50A continuously until it is empty! This non-continuous rating is set by Molicel for this cell’s intended applications; power tools, electric vacuum cleaners, and similar devices where the cell is used really hard for short periods of time.

While you can run this cell at 50A for a while I recommend staying below about 35A to help reduce voltage sag, improve performance, extend cell life, and reduce risk. Especially if the cells are in a battery pack where they heat each other up. Use a 35A rating for comparing this cell to other cells with true continuous current ratings.

The two cells I tested delivered 4477mAh and 4488mAh. This is great consistency and is typical of cells from the big manufacturers. The cells I tested exceeded Molicel’s 4400mAh minimum capacity rating but didn’t quite meet the 4500mAh “typical” rating. I’m not worried about this at all, especially since it’s only a tiny difference and I tested these cells in January and tweaks to the capacity can be made. I’ll retest these cells once they become widely available.

Been vaping the Chinese superconcentrate flavors for like 10 years. Lately just rotating between real cig, 555 and cohiba. Past few years ordered from Bullcityflavors. They don’t seem to sell these flavors anymore.

Device is pretty compact

In comparison with Aspire Vilter - almost same height and about twice wider.

Handcheck:

will fit smaller hands perfectly, but it's OK for mid size hands too.
If your hands are the size of baseball gloves - go play baseball instead

Blok Pod

it's a nice pod with a magnet and a slider to fit it in a proper position on a device.

Pod with a coil installed

Coil sits tight, no leakage or any other problems noticed during the testing period.
Also need to notice the option to refill the pod using the sliding button installed on it without the need of removing the pod or a coil to refill. I also like the both auto-draw and the button activation options.
Convenience is a key to building a successful product

Pros:
Quality made by Aspire
Nice design (metal finish)
Compact yet comfortable size (for most users except barehand baseballers )
Auto-draw / button activation mode
Nice pod - decent capacity, coil selection, easy refill mode, no leakage
Long lasting battery 1.2KmAh
Affordable price

Cons:
Not really a con, but you shouldn't expect to get the similar vaping experience using Blok compared to your favourite big mod kits, but for a compact kit - the cloud production, taste and overall experience is very good IMHO.
Another little thing to mention - the pod is pretty dark and if you vape inside you might need to find some light to check the liquid level.

My Final Thoughts on Blok kit:

Aspire created another decent yet affordable (around 25$ + shipping) compact vape kit with an interesting design and all needed features of a modern vape (auto-draw, lasting battery, coils/options, overheat and other kinds of protection).
I wish I had a Blok kit when I was struggling to quit smoking (years ago).
