UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF BOTH
The first thing that I noticed was the presentation of both devices was very nice with a box that slides out of the outer sleeve, inside the box is another box with JUST DRAG printed on it that contains your coils, charge cable, owners manual and for the Drag X a battery safety warning card.
Both devices are stunning in appearance and have great detail embossed on the leather spine, Voopoo is using a Knight theme on the new Drag devices that look great. My colors are the dark Knight Chestnut on the Drag X and the Shield Gold on the Drag S.
The new PNP-X Pod connects to the device using 3 very strong magnets that contact with the raised metal platform that is recessed inside the device. If your familiar with the TPP Pod you will notice the new PNP-X Pod has the same semi-hidden side fill port at the top of the Pod.
I really like this fill system and method much better than the old bottom fill method the older PNP Pod has.
You will notice a sticker covering the fill port saying
PRESS AND SLIDE TO THE LEFT covering part of the pod, remove the sticker, press in and turn the top cap to the left to reveal the rubber plug covering the fill port, Like the TPP Pod this new PNP Pod has a large fill port.
Voopoo is using the airflow system of the original Drag X and S for these devices that have a metal horizontal stem lever above the leather spine used to control the dual airflow intake's located on the side's of the device.
The bottom of both devices show they are sample versions and have a sign not to discard in the trash, the Drag S has 4 rubber feet to help it from sliding, the Drag X on the other hand has a battery door with 2 rubber feet, in testing these devices the battery door stayed closed and never opened unintentionally. A arrow points in the direction for it to be pushed open.
Opening the battery door you have a negative symbol on the inside of the door, looking down into the 18650 battery tube there is no positive symbol or marking inside it. The battery door has very little movement or wiggle to it open or closed and feels solid.
There are 2 display screen settings that consist of Smart mode in Red and RBA mode in Blue, the Smart mode is supposed to set a recommended best setting and also prevent you from going over the maximum wattage for the coil your using. The wattage protection works fine but the wattage best recommendation only worked once when I first began to test these devices and it's happening on both of them, remember that I have
sample devices and not the finished full retail versions though.
The Drag S has a auto-draw feature that the Drag X does not and you have the option to set to fire in auto-draw or button activation with the symbol ( A&P ) or just button activation and it symbol is ( P ) by pressing the fire button 3 times quickly, the option works in either Smart or RBA mode To change between the 2 modes on either device press the fire button quickly 3 times.
With no real menu system all you need to remember is a few button combinations.
BUTTON COMBINATIONS
* On/Off - 5 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button
* Mode Change - 3 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button
* ( Drag S Only ) - Auto-Draw - 3 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button
* Lock/Unlock The Entire Device - Press And Hold The Fire And Up Button Simultaneously
* Clearing The Puff Counter - Press And Hold The Fire And Down Button Simultaneously
Deciding on which Drag is right for you? If your a higher watts vaper and prefer to change out batteries on the fly then the Drag X is probably a better choice for your style of vaping, if you don't want to be bothered by changing out batteries and would rather just charge and go and are more of a vaper that uses lower watts then the Drag S is more for you, both are beautiful devices.

USING BOTH DEVICES
Having reviewed all of the devices in the Drag family I like these 2 new members, if somehow you never tried any of the Drags before or a new vaper looking for something to wet your appetite the new Drags might be just the ticket for you.
There is no denying how attractive these 2 are and that's a big plus, Voopoo still has that feature that if a device sits unused for some time (20-30 min) it falls asleep and needs to be woke up with a single press of the fire button, I've become so used to this that I sometimes instinctively press the fire button twice on other devices, this is something you will need to get used to.
Both devices are comfortable when holding with no real sharp edges to speak of, And I like the slanted top corner above the fire button for resting the thumb on.
As far as performance goes both devices fire very quickly with no ramp up, I had no drops or spikes of wattage on either device. Remember these devices are SAMPLE VERSIONS and not the final retail versions, I'm thinking that the issue with the best setting is just a firmware update because I never had a problem in the past using this feature.
I'm a vaper that likes a warm and sometimes very warm vape and use the VM6 0.15Ω coil quite a bit so it's performance was something I'm used to ( GREAT ) the VM1 0.3Ω coil is more on the cooler side, flavor is very good but when I vape it at 38w-40w I can feel it starting to dry, so I stayed at the 35w mark for testing and it vaped fine just but cooler. So in wrapping up the Drag X device I will tell you that it's a winner.
Starting off with the review of the Drag S I will tell you that everything I mentioned above about the Drag X holds true for this mod as well. The 0.2Ω coil was even cooler than the 0.3 but flavor was the same and if you like a cooler vape this will improve your battery life.
I really like the new PNP-X Pod, the semi - hidden side fill is a real improvement from the bottom fill method of the older PNP Pod, thank you for bringing the TPP design to the PNP.
I would like to thank Aimer and Voopoo for providing these kits for the purpose of this review, I also think both of these kits are nice additions to the Drag family.
THANK YOU
