Introduction

Aesthetics and Ergonomics

The Essent SE Mod came in very compact cardboard pull out draw style packaging with a picture of the device on the front and a round sticker showing the colour of choice to the right top corner, contents etc are listed on the reverse. I received the Pacific Blue version which consists of a Pacific Blue main Aluminium Alloy chassis, with Stainless Steel buttons, exposed battery tube as well as top and base Stainless Steel plates! The options are Black, Full Black (DLC), Gunmetal or Pacific Blue.

The device is very plain looking with classic lines, the SE version in my opinion looks better than the larger DNA option due to both it's smaller size but also a subtle aesthetic carved design towards the front either side, within the design on one side we have "ESSENT SE" carved into the metal!





The face of the device has cut edging to add more aesthetic character yet no sharp edges, top central we have a protruding round fire button in the same colour as the main chassis with metallic edging which adds a quality aesthetic touch! Towards the bottom lined up vertically we have two elongated protruding rectangular navigational buttons also in the colour of the main chassis and with the same metallic edging. Underneath the navigational buttons again in a central position we have a Type C USB port and between the fire and lower buttons the colour display!

The spine has an exposed Stainless Steel battery tube which adds to the old school classy look but also helps to make the device ergonomic to both hold and use. To the base etched into the Stainless Steel plate we have both branding and safety marks, we also have an old school style battery plate which screws into position to secure the battery. Moving to the top Stainless Steel plate we have a 20mm slightly raised 510 plate with spring loaded, Gold plated 510!

The Essent SE is one of those devices which photos and pictures doesn't quite do it justice, in hand this is such a well made and in my opinion classy looking device! Also when shaking it gives no button or battery rattle whatsoever!

Fitting The Battery

The Essent SE accommodates a single 18650 battery which slides into the battery tube to the rear of the device. We have an old school battery plate with smooth threading and central section for grip! Looking inside the tube we can see positive vibrantly labelled and on the underside of the battery plate negative labelled in White, we also have a large central contact section for good connectivity, really can't fault anything, full marks!!!





Also the battery tube can be unscrewed and removed so I would guess there will be alternative tubes available!

The Display

I have never known a display that has such small font yet is that sharp I have absolutely no problem reading all the information provided! Apart from the CPS (curves) working screen the display looks similar in each mode but obviously focuses on Voltage in Voltage and Bypass modes and Temperature in TC mode! I will describe the display in Auto mode as that is the default mode!

Top left we have the battery status bar, top central battery life as a percentage and top right a padlock in either an open or closed position depending on the status of the navigational buttons. Underneath we have the mode which in this case is Auto and then below that the best from and to wattage recommendation, then underneath in much larger font than the rest of the information, the wattage!

In the bottom half of the display we have lined up vertically first the Voltage followed by the resistance and finally the amps. At the very bottom of the display to the left we have the puff count and to the right vape duration!

Operating The Device

The Essent SE is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and 5 clicks to turn off and by default it will be in Auto mode but it does remember your last settings. Pressing the fire button 3 times locks the navigational buttons but the device will still fire and fire and down together resets the four digit puff counter.

In Auto mode it will automatically set to a suitable wattage for the resistance of your coil and also display suitable from and to wattage parameters, the device will allow wattage adjustment below the from wattage but will not allow adjustments above the upper limit instead you will get a "Max Wattage" message on the screen!

Pressing fire and up together enters the menu giving 3 options, Mode, Colour and brightness. Choosing brightness allows you to adjust the brightness of the display while choosing Colour allows you to change the colour of the accents on the main working screen, the options are Blue, Green, Orange, Red or Purple.





Choosing Mode gives a list of options which are Auto (default), Wattage (standard variable wattage), Voltage, Bypass, TC/TCR and CPS (curves mode)!





When choosing TC it gives you the option of either Ni, Ti, SS or three memory slots. When choosing CPS you have three memory slots to choose from which can then be used or adjusted. When on the main curves working screen to adjust press both navigational buttons together which then allows you to adjust each segment with the navigational buttons with fire moving to the next segment, there are 20 segments in total and when finished holding fire down for 2 seconds sets the curve!





The wattage adjusts in 0.5w increments and when not in Auto mode which limits the wattage but in standard Wattage mode it adjusts from 1w up to 80w and round robins.

Charging

As usual I recommend charging externally but if you do charge in the device we have a Type C USB connection and 2A charge rate. We get really good feedback during charging, on the display we have in a vertical position a large charging status bar, above that the charge is given as a percentage and below the time left to fully charge, the Essent SE also supports pass-through vaping!

My Thoughts!

The Coolfire Z80 has been the best 18650 device I have used this year due to the Innovation and I have also tested some top notch single 21700 devices but the Essent SE runs the Coolfire Z80 very close due to the excellent build quality and proprietary chipset that performed excellently albeit without testing the TC as I am just not a TC vaper unless it's TC done easy like Replay!

The buttons have a nice silent yet definite click and despite it's quite boxy shape it's very comfortable in the hand. Auto, Wattage, Voltage, Bypass, TC/TCR and CPS (curves) this has a mode for everyone and the curves feature with 20 segments allowing it to be set for a whole 10 seconds is particularly impressive and i really enjoyed testing this although about a 6 seconds puff is my limit!

It fires with no delay and I just can't fault it's performance, it really is an excellent device. Any cons really are just subjective and not for me like some might prefer it to maintain being able to accommodate a 21700 like the DNA 75C version but then one of the pros of this device compared to it's sibling is it's smaller more portable size and many MTL vapers still prefer smaller devices that accommodate their tried and trusted 18650 batteries!

I love the sharp display and how well laid out it is and having the choice of what colour to have the accents is another pro, for a device that has so many modes and other settings it's very user friendly and easy to navigate. I love the old school style of fitting the battery and orientation is clearly labelled, also with the battery tube being able to be unscrewed it does seem like other styles of tubes will be available which will allow for some customisation! Finally it will accommodate up to 25mm atomisers with no overhang which will cover the vast majority of atomisers that people would use on a single battery device, it has Type C USB, 2A charge rate with great feedback and supports both pass-through vaping and firmware upgrades!

Unless you are a TC user who swears by the premium chipsets like DNA or you particularly like features like Replay and using the Theme designer on Escribe then at only a third of the price the smaller and in my opinion even more aesthetically pleasing SE version is a no brainer, cracking device!

► Dead Rabbit R Tank; First impressions:
When Dead Rabbit R Tank arrived, at first glance I thought of the usual rebuildable Tank, but then I looked at the box and saw an image of a mesh, so I changed my initial thinking thinking it was a rebuildable mesh system with postless/deck.

Opening the box I found myself in front of an incredible amount of accessories and immediately I was intrigued and I immediately wanted to see the structure of the deck ... Surprise! I remembered having seen something similar before, namely Vapefly and its regenerable RMC resistance to Mesh. However, in this case it is not a resistance to be prepared and screwed to the deck, in fact the "construction" part of the deck has an integrated element that looks like an emptied coil that can be regenerated vertically. In practice, it is an unprecedented solution, different from that of Vapefly and at first glance everything seems very well designed. The spaces for "building" are tidy and generous. All this should greatly simplify the operations of inserting the Mesh and cotton thanks to the Tool present in the box.

The rest of the Tank isn't that different from most other RTAs. The Top-Cap uses a quick bayonet connection and "strangely" a replaceable 510 drip-tip is installed on top of it. Overall, it's a reasonably attractive Tank with nice Celtic-style carvings on the top and bottom that act as a knurl. The lettering and logo on the bell are also pleasing to the eye and not too invasive. The tank comes with a 3.5ml straight profile glass but in the equipment there is a 5ml Bubble glass.

I received two different and pleasant colors of Dead Rabbit R (Matte Black and Gold) for this test and immediately I found their ideal location on the beautiful Hellvape AREZ 120 unibody Mod: Hellvape AREZ 120 unibody Mod



► Dead Rabbit R Tank; Exploded view:
This product is basically composed of 6 elements that unscrew / screw and fit together with good mechanical precision. There are two major elements, namely the bell / chimney and the AFC base with integral regenerable deck. The o'ring are well sized and spare ones are abundantly present.





► Refil:
As I mentioned earlier, this is fast. Just turn the top cap 1/4 turn to access two large charging slots. The e-liquid capacity is 3.5ml with the straight glass, up to 5ml with the Bubble glass supplied as a spare.

As most of you know, I'm a bit of a Bush fan, (Make of that statement what you will).
I don't know what it is, I've tried probably thousands of liquids from hundreds of manufacturers over the years, A great many of those tobacco liquids, especially Cigar related but very few have stuck yet I consistently like the liquids Manabush produce. I guess like Joey had a hand twin in friend's, we've all got a tastebuds twin, lol.
I've long been asking Martyn if he's ever considered looking at straight tobacco liquids. Usually the answer has been No.
When the firewater range came out, it was like the perfect Cigar tobacco but I can't do bourbon. So I asked again... No.

Finally people, we have a Manabush tobacco only line.. It's name is Leaf, it's reasonably priced.. And it is good.
First up.
Sweet blonde tobacco.
This was one of the first I tried back before Christmas and wow is it a belter. It's like the traditional Nokomis style juice has been transported in those pods seth brundle used in the Fly. It's been turned inside out so that the support is from a slightly sweet toffee/honey but upfront is a bold balanced tobacco.
Now as I've said, I was a Cigar smoker so i can easily taste if a tobacco originates from Indonesia vs a Caribbean/America's grown tobacco (even if it's the same seed plant) and am pretty confident I can tell if a Cigar is from Cuba, Dominican, Honduras or Nicaragua ect but cigarette tobacco isn't easy for me to place.
I got some Virginia, Kentucky and burley notes but I could be completely wrong. What I can say is it's a delicious blend with a good earthy flavour that starts dry and and ends big and bold. Those sweet banknotes then bloom into an addictive aftertaste.
This is probably the one juice it's been a while since I've last vaped as It was perfect out of the gate so sadly there was no need to send me any more, lol. I will say of all three liquids, this is the one that benefit from leaving for a while after adding nic before vaping.


I would even urge you to buy an extra bottle and lay it down once nic is added for a special Christmas Vape.
Ever the professional (Mrs wings is laughing). I always keep a couple of mls of each liquid I've been lucky enough to sample back to clutter up my vape draw and to.see how it changes over time.
After six months of storage, sweet blonde has turned into a golden nectar of the God's. The flavours have remained stable yet bloomed into and even deeper smoother version of itself.
This is The type of liquid I could see being cellar stored like a vintage cigar and being sold on the secondary market for silly prices, it's that good. Get ahead and thank me later.

Cafe Cigarillo.
Now we're back safely into my ballpark.
When I first switched to vaping, The best the vape shop had to offer was a French pipe tobacco or Havana Cigar. Obviously I asked them to hand me that Havana. Sweet Jesus, I nearly puked, french tobacco was worse if anything. I can't imagine how anyone could begin to believe those juices represented anything near any tobacco, let alone Pinar del rio's finest.
Over the years things have improved, especially for cigarette smokers. I've tried too many Cigar liquids to list and some have had some merit and some like el toro, Red, Drakes and black note have actually used Cuban leaf in a cold press process to offer a taste of what I missed but even these missed the mark. You see the tobacco doesn't develop those classic flavour characteristics until it's combusted and there in lies the rub.
Genuinely the first juices that tasted like real cigars where Manabush 's firewater then revolucion range and so that's where I ended up but sometimes you just don't feel like hitting the bourbon or rum first thing in the morning so they remained an evening treat for when I'm in The mood.I
Enter Leaf Cafe Cigarillo.
Fear not, the Cafe doesn't hint at a coffee blend, this is a straight up Cigarillo style flavour. The Cafe nods at the little tins of cigarillos you can buy but this is so much more.
Yes first off you definitely get that more reasonably priced Indonesian/Java style Cigar tobacco but then a supportive roll from some mild America's style tobacco of the type you'd find from Honduras or Brazil.
A mellow mild flavour with complex rounded end. If anyone remembers the Wilde's cigarillos that used long filler like a full size cigar, we're definitely in that ballpark. Smooth and fragrant but mild enough for an adv (in fact it recommend it).
Really not sure how he's done it, I'm just bloody thrilled he has.
Can not recommend enough.
This for me, is the zenith of Cigar e liquid. I can't even compare it another brand as it's just fantastic. You actually believe your smoking a large Corona style cigar. The flavour is every bit Cuban (perhaps some of the more modern Dominican cigar too).
Somehow Manabush have captured the taste of the very distinctive flavours found in the tobacco from pinar del rio, the humid hilly northern region of Cuba.
I'd like the flavour to a Punch Punch or H upman Corona which considering how complex the blend of tobacco and process involved in creating those cigars is blows my mind.

The P is a 5ml Sub-Ohm Tank that uses the Z coils from Geekvape, I have used these Z coils in past Tanks reviews from Geekvape and I really like their performance, great flavor and more than enough vapor. UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS


Opening up the sample package of the P Tank I was surprised at it's appearance ( different ) being what it is. With the airflow in the middle ( still top-air ) and what looks like a jeweled 2nd smaller tank installed on top of it really gives the P Tank a very unique appearance that is like nothing I've seen before. It's nice that Geekvape included both spare glass tubes with the Tank as well as spare O rings along with your standard paper materials of user manual, quick reference card, warning card as well as your warranty card .





PROVIDED COILS


Geekvape includes 2 coils with the tank that perform very well, pre-installed is the 0.2Ω mesh coil that's rated to be used between 70-80 watts, the 2nd coil that's included is also a mesh 0.4Ω rated to be used between 50-60 watts.

Both of these coils produce great flavor as well as a abundant amount of vapor with the pre-installed 0.2Ω giving a warmer vape than the 0.4Ω that is just as flavorful only at a cooler vape temperature.

The 0.4Ω on the left has a good amount of Kanthal spread out throughout the cotton but at a thinner measurement of wire than the pre-installed 0.2Ω coil on the right.





Installing the coils into the Tank is a simple push in process, on the coils are 2 tabs on each side that need to be lined up with the the 2 notch's inside the Tank, once lined up push the coil into place. Note the 3 large airflow slots that funnel the airflow down from the top of the Tank to the bottom that is pictured. The inner chamber shows the large juice fill slots.








The top portion glass tube is visible through many small window cutouts in the top portion of the Tank, I like this look on the Tank and when turned they kind of glimmer in the sunlight and in a way resemble facets.








Filling the P Tank is done from the top by just filling through the top glass portion of the Tank, there are no fill slots on the P Tank so you can fill in any location, liquid will fall through to the bottom glass and fill up to the top glass portion, you will notice a red O-ring that prevents liquid from entering the airflow passage and is also your fill level for the Tank, fill to just under that O-ring. ( NOTE ) Keep a eye on the top caps black O-ring because it sometimes falls out when cleaning.




Shown fully assembled and filled notice that the base is measured at 24mm but bumps out to 26mm in 2 other locations on the Tank being the middle airflow section and at the top cap which is a quarter turn to open/close. There is some knurling on the base as well as the top cap helping to get a better grip when opening.






USING THE P TANK


First thing I have to say is it's different look from a standard Sub-Ohm Tank has grown on me from when I first laid eyes on it ( I LIKE IT ). I really don't like tall Tanks of any kind and the P Tank is rather tall but the different look helps it not look that as such.

Bubble glass always changes a Tanks appearance and the look is not a good fit for most tanks but for more capacity it's a must, as you can see there is no bubble but rather 2 straight glass portions that still give us a nice 5ml capacity.

As many of you know I have reviewed many Geekvape Tanks that use the Z coil and I am quite familiar with it, great saturated flavor with a abundance of thick vapor with time proven performance defines them. I have been using both coils at the minimum wattage rating for each and finding my sweet spot there, I saw no need to increase wattage for either coil.

Having 3 airflow slots on a tank such as the P has usually make the Tank a air machine and also increase the noise of the vape, the P gives more than enough airflow that can be tightened up for a very RDL vape if that's your style of vape.

I am really pleased with the reduction of noise and that the P Tank still provides a very smooth airflow in any position of the airflow control ring which is removeable for cleaning, both glass sections can be removed for a deep cleaning or changing juice flavors if one so wishes.

Being that it's really a top air Tank but Geekvape calls it middle air because of the top Tank portion it's virtually a leak-free Tank, just don't go past the red O-ring when filling and you will have no issues.

I'm going to touch on the appearance again stating that the P Tank not only grew on me but I prefer it to a bubble glass appearance. I put the very popular Z Tank next to the P Tank and if having a choice of appearance only I would 100% choose the P strictly because no bubble glass was used and it still has a 5ml capacity.

After putting them side by side in this photo height was no longer a factor, I still love the Z Tank and still use it but prefer the look of the P Tank even more. Looking at this picture the bump outs on the top cap, airflow control ring and base look like the glass would be protected because the bump outs would hit first on a fall over.





In closing I want to applaud Geekvape on trying something different on a design stand point, granted they could have just made a very tall straight glass tank and called it a day but I'm glad they didn't, as I stated early on I was scratching my head on this Tank design but after using it for some time I really like it as well as recommend it 100%.

The P Tank has and is still performing great and for that reason alone I will not be doing a pros and cons for it because the only con is a subjective one for some ( APPEARANCE ) this Tank has checked all my boxes that I look for with a tank. I do wish the Poseidon image was larger though.

just found a study on cbd liquid storaging i haven't seen before.
If we store our cbd liquid wrong, up to 20 % cbd can be lost within 30 days.
There were no new storage recommandations for me, just store it cool and dark.
