Hello and welcome to another review. Today I will be taking a look at the Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 RTA Pro that provided to me by Sourcemore in order to provide you with a fair and honest review. For some unknown reason, my Hellvape contact stopped responding so I greatly appreciate Sourcemore offering this review sample. The DR4 Pro has a 3.5ml capacity with the straight glass and 5.5ml with the included spare bubble glass. It also includes a metal grid outer cover to protect the straight glass while being visually appealing. The deck is 1mm wider at 13mm and is upgraded with 48 holes to improve airflow and stronger throat hits. All this and also has top airflow to prevent any leaks.

INITIAL THOUGHTS:

The packaging for the DR4 Pro rta has what I’d call a honeycomb type design on the front of the box with the Hellvape and device names. There is also a rendering of the tank and a sticker stating the color version of the tank inside. The back of the box has a list of features and a contents list.

Once the top of the box is removed, the tank is visible with spare bubble glass sitting below in the foam insert. The gunmetal version that I received is very nice looking in my opinion. Underneath the foam insert is where the accessories and user manual are located. The accessories include two of the .37 ohm coils that are commonly included with Hellvape tanks with cotton threads, a screwdriver, spare seals and spare grub screws in a second bank, and a coil cutting guide. The included cutting guide has an arrow marked at the 5mm location for convenience.

As is the case with any new tank, I always try to disassemble the tank as far as I can and give it a bath in some hot and soapy water to remove any debris or machining oil that might be left in the tank. The Dead Rabbit symbol is engraved on the center chamber. As you can see in the picture, the top cap has an arrow on top indicating which direction to push the top cap to expose the fill port. Even though it’s a push to fill cap, it can be unscrewed for thorough cleaning. I really like the honeycomb design on the airflow control ring and metal outer cage that protects the glass section.

The build deck has 16 airflow holes on each of the uprights and a series of holes in the center to make up a total of 48 airflow holes. The deck was increased in size by 1mm to 13mm to allow more room for building dual coils. I trimmed each of the included coils to 5mm on the legs and tightened them in place using the included flat blade screwdriver. You can see in the second picture that the center of the deck comes up in a triangular shape to direct airflow under the coils while the side holes bring air in across the sides of the coils. The airflow is drawn through the top airflow openings on the tank then directs the airflow to the sides and underneath the coils simultaneously. Once the coils were inserted, I made use of the included cotton thread and wicked both coils. I thinned out the tails and easily inserted the tails into the wick ports.

The bottom of the deck has the Hellvape name and logo as well as the Dead Rabbit 4 RTA Pro name.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

I honestly don’t normally use dual coil rtas very much. I did however really enjoy testing the Hellvape Dead Rabbit 4 RTA Pro that was sent to me by Sourcemore. Hellvape makes some really nice quality tanks and sells them at reasonable prices. I found the build quality of the tank to be quite nice. The protective cage really sets off the whole look of the tank. The drip tip with the nice design is a nice addition also. The airflow slots are pretty large underneath the airflow control ring that copies the design of the cage. As far as vaping performance goes, I found the tank to be quite flavorful and produces large amounts of vapor like you would expect from a dual coil rta. The top airflow design makes it so you don’t have to worry about leaking.
