How come the 510 came to be the industry standard? I have used my stepson's 510, same juice, clean atty against my 901.
901 gives better vapor. 901 gives warmer vapor. 901 gives tons more flavor. 510 gives slightly more throat hit.
Most of the best reviewed 510 features are cartos (CE2, dual coil) and batteries (eGo, Riva) that have versions compatible with the 808, and by extension, the 901. Some, like the Riva, have direct 901 versions.
The standard batteries that come with the kits are fairly even, with the 510 having slightly more mAh, but the 901 atty is by far superior to the 510. Both kits sell for the same average price across vendors. The carts are identical.
So this leaves me with a burning question. What happened in the industry and at what point did the 510 become the overwhelming standard? Was it because of reviewers, availability, community marketing or is it simply that the 510 arrived to the scene earlier?
If somebody could illuminate me about this part of PV history, I'd very much appreciate it.
