Well at least Evolv will have a product at least with similar power capabilities to compare to the SX. I've always thought it over reach of the Evolv fanboys to want to compare a 40 w device to the 120w & now 150w of the SXmini when really the only thing to compare is mainly Temp limiting.

But who knows maybe we'll be comparing this new chip to one Yihi posted about Dec. of last year SX350 V250, or perhaps something even better. The world is our oyster in this rapidly evolving industy. :D

News - YiHi SX350 V250 new chip News
Color Screen TFT 2.8〞 3.5〞 4.3〞selectable
Variable Joule, heat controllable, Temperature
controllable. Perfect experience mode.
Super power, Maximum 250W, still upgradable
Touch Sensor
Bluetooth
0.05ohm -3.0 ohm
DC-DC 1.0V-12.0V
Software upgrade/GUI operate

In my mind Evolv had to do something like this in order to turn the consumer to talking & posting about something "New & Better" and to mitigate some of the bad press of the dna 40. 6-8 months now and people are still receiving glitched systems and the addition of a display reset to hide or minimize the problem isn't really a fix. It seems apparent they cant fix the problems correctly and have adequate time to do so.

I truly hope they are successful with their next product release. (I do prefer my money stay stateside and make it's way to my fellow neighbors if at all possible) I can only imagine the financial loss's the dna 40 has caused them and their vendors and would find it hard to see them survive should their next release be plagued with issues that were not correctable. They have to rebuild their reputation and credibility with the consumer that they once had with the DNA 30 and prior. Of course there will always be the loyal fanboy that will turn any defect into a feature and everything else will be user error. At any rate good luck to them.

Though if they release a buggy piece of ****, none of this will matter. Beta testing using paying customers is not how things should be going as they did with the DNA40.

That's two big potential problems in my mind. They should't use fanboy or long time devoted Evolv lovers to provide them with "Objective" test results or else they will end up with the #1 problem of "they release a buggy piece of ****" Hopefully they've refined their Beta testing and QC process's so not go through those problems again.

That's me sold

I don't think I will be buying anything else now....

To even tempt me to buying before this is released a mod will have to tick all these boxes ... & more

Just saw a pic of the dna 200.

Not very mod friendly :( looks almost like a YIHI 350j except for the hanging screen that has to be aligned with a big long board over it :(

Regards
Tony

Sent from my keyboard through my phone or something like that.

I personally don't see it as a major issue being longer to be a modder board but I've had some debate over it with the DNA fanboys stating that the SX350j board isn't modder friendly.;) So maybe I'm an exception, but if it's roughly the size of an 18650 it wouldn't be a problem for me to build with it.

Yep you are right...the 350j is not modder friendly as designed.

The SX350j is not really a modder board. It has neither the design nor the manufacturer support that a real modder board does.

I too prefer to buy American when it is superior. I look for quality and features and will go that way even if more expensive but competition is good for us consumers and I like that. :vapor:

YiHi has already hinted that a 200W+ board is coming soon back in April:

"About 200W or higher products, Our engineers are testing right now and if any further information, we will promptly announce it."

So far as Watts wars are concerned, I doubt Evolv will have any advantage there for long. The bluetooth option meanwhile remains pretty interesting. If done right that opens the door to app integration on Andoird and iOS, which could be a real game changer.

Thanks. It just seems to be unclear and a lot of reading. Thanks.

They haven't resolved the glitch occurring - the chip just resets the screen under certain situations so the glitch isn't permanent. Thus, a kludge, not a proper fix, at least in my opinion. ;)

Wow. A straight answer. Are you feeling ok? :D

He's always given straight answers. He might not always be cordial but he's never given wrong info.

I tried to stay away from this thread mostly because I didn't have a SX350j to compare to. I bought a SX Mini M last week and used it for less than 3 days before I put it up for sale. The chip isn't bad but it's not better or worse than a DNA40. The reason it's for sale is that the mod is heavy and uncomfortable to hold, IMO. I ordered a Boxer mod that uses a SX350j which I should get tomorrow. I ordered the DIY kit because it was $80 cheaper than the built version and I'm not afraid of soldering :D.

From my short time with the SX350j, it's ok but I prefer my DNA40 devices.

Bluetooth a game changer? Really?

Temperature protection is a game changer. Bluetooth on a vaping mod is fluff.

The watts war is for insecure people that are compensating for their shortcomings. I have yet to see any mod over 100w actually deliver.
