I'm not hyping anything, just reporting my experience and I don't work for a manufacturer with a ploy.:) Here is a picture of a 20w with a thread chip left in the 510 pin from the threading process. I suspect something similar was the problem in my silver 50.

Actually I was referring to redit mostly. Your spirits are high.

They really dislike ECF over there too.

I got the "we are a distributor, not the manufacturer" reply a couple times. Then found the email address (service@iSmoka.com) on the eLeafWorld contact us page.

It took a few days...but since, I've been exchanging emails with one of their reps and response time has been great. We'll see long term how this works out for me. I might of just donated a partially working mod to some 'Emily' chick out of Cali, LOL! Crossing my fingers!!

I will say that if you do not have original box to validate security code and serial number PLUS invoice from online vendor ....all I needed to provide, your probably S.O.L. trying to work with iSmoka reps. One thing I've heard is many are requiring a video of the issue, this I didn't have to provide (but could've).

Damn, tried to quote a few responses from pg77 ................ just can't get the multi-quote to work.

fingers!!
That's the same email on the contact page.
Wholesale Just be sure to use the service address and not the info address.
Glad you got some good communication. They have been replacing the faulty ones from our co-op with the box and code. Thanks for posting and hope Emily gets you a new one :)

Well my iStick 50W, which was purchased on 2/12, just died today. It's never been dropped or otherwise been damaged and it's been running fine with no issues. But it's now doing the following:

1. Powers off by itself.
2. Won't allow me to power it back on, although sometimes 5 clicks will randomly turn it back on.
3. Once on, it will fire maybe 10% of the time. If it does fire, it powers down again as soon as I release the button.
4. It will power on when I plug it in, but it won't let me use it via passthrough. Once I unplug it, it immediately powers back off again (the battery is currently fully charged, btw).

And yes, I'm 6 days past my 90 day warranty.

Grrrrr.... :-x

Sounds very much like what one of mine was doing. They will turn off if they detect a short. If it's not in the atomizer, it could be the 510 pin. Try working the pin up and down and moving it gently with tweezers. Also you can try blowing hard into it to get any possible juice out from under it. I was able to get mine working again.

Been doing the "510 wiggle dance" for about five minutes now. Nothing yet. And sadly, the smallest Torx I have is a T8.

Lol. It's a T5 I believe. I have loosened them with a good screwdriver but you have to be careful. I think mine had a shaving from the threading lodged in it. If you have some contact spray, you might be able to flush the pin out holding it upside down and using the straw needle attachment on the spray nozzle.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give the contact spray a shot (pun intended) once I'm done doing the wiggle which, to be honest, is really quite fun!

Well, wiggling it (just a little bit ;) ) helped temporarily. I was able to fire it a couple of times before it powered off again. Part of me wonders if there's a loose lead somewhere in the device.
How long were you able to fire it those times?

A full 10 seconds the first time, about 8 the second time. But as soon as I took my finger off the button the second time, it powered back down.
Well it seems you found the problem area. If it was just a loose connection that was intermittently making, I doubt that it would detect it as a short and turn off. Try unscrewing your atty and then turn it down until it just starts reading the ohms and see if it will fire.

Well, now I can't even get it to turn on unless I plug it in and even then, it doesn't turn on all the time.

I think it's time to grab my Sig and introduce the 50W to my friend, Mr. 9mm.

ETA: Thanks for the help though, Bike. I just placed an order for a replacement through VapeNW. Hopefully I get a one from the "new batch". I'm clearly a glutton for punishment. ;)

I know the feeling. Put the mod down and walk away. It sounds like there is a short somewhere and most likely the 510 pin. Disassembly may be required.
ETA: Never mind :)

I need to head to Home Depot this evening anyway...might as well pick up a T5 and see what the innards of this thing look like. Maybe I'll get to do some soldering tonight... ;)

(although shooting it sounds a lot more fun...LOL).
