Guys, the movie premiered here in the states just 16 days ago in Milwaukee. I think it's a little soon to expect seeing it showing all over the country. This isn't Star Wars, their movie budget and staff doesn't even come close.

Give it a little more time, call your local theaters and ask for it, sign up to buy tickets in your area if you want to see it come to a town near you, have you got anything to loose other then a few minuets?

Just gave this a go with seven wrap 26ga ni200, 4.3mm id coil, rayon, coming in at .09 ohm. I didn't block any of the holes, I pulled some fibers between the posts and set the wick over them. Easy to reset the post and easy to build, took a little fussing with the wick but not too bad. I have the temp set at 475, nice vapor and flavor, looking forward to seeing how it goes. :thumb:

So how is it vaping?
Is the view worth the climb?

It's too soon to call yet, going to replace the wick and try again. The flavor dropped off after a while and I started getting dry hits. I think I have two problems with the wick, I don't think I had enough rayon packed in the coil and I didn't thin the tail. I didn't get any flooding, it was pretty good for about an hour, think it just needs some tweaking.

I'll add this, it was easy to build on with that post turned 90 deg. I set the lower screw on right side, held the drill bit with coil in the spot I wanted it then pulled the wire (through the other post hole) tight and bent the wire over the side of the post so it would hold while I tighten the set screw. You could fit one hell of a huge coil in that space!

I realize most that participate in this thread are >30 and maybe this doesn't apply across the vape communities in your area? But if a billion lives only needs to sell 100 to secure a screening in a city, I'm shocked every vape store in America hasn't done that already, to help save their business.

I know I would buy a ticket. I bet y'all would all buy tickets.

I've considered driving up to OKC for that showing, but can't believe 100 people in Dallas don't (won't) buy tickets?

I agree a pay per view release on YouTube, DVD, or something may be his only course to recoup some money. I can't buy a ticket if it's not playing in my area. I can pay $9.99 for a youtube screening.

Sad really.

I think the problem is farther up the food chain.
The movie don't have deals to be screened every were, because some one don't want us to see it.
They don't want it to viewed mainstream by everyone, probably bad for their business or credibility ?
This is really a lot bigger problem than we are letting on! Even free speech has to be regulated by big corporations so as not to interfere with Profits!

Well, I have a new DNA200 board, but now I need a new white balance connector since I couldn't desolder the one off of the "bricked" board.

I'll make sure to order more than one from Digi-Key or whomever...:glare:

If you pry the plastic up off the pins with a small screw driver, you can easily remove the pins one at a time :)

Over here you can get them with cheap shipping from eBay YMMV.

Yup, too much of a tail, rayon won't pull the juice with the tail stuffed, you can see the air in the wick.

I pulled the tail up & out of the deck, thinned it by half and have just the fiber ends laying on the deck now. Put some juice in the base letting it run under the deck just like it was on the atty and it soaks it right up fast. Better, big vapor but the flavor is still a little muted, I should have pulled the wick and started over. I still don't think I have enough inside the coil, tried to be lazy and get away with it. Oh well, it's all a learning curve, back to the bench.

Too late...but good to know for next time. :thumb:

Cuz let's face it, as much as I hope there isn't a next time, I'm not gonna lie to myself.

10 JST B4B-XH-A connectors ordered! :p

MadOzodi, As Steamer says, pry the plastic part up and then the pins will desolder easy. If you get stuck I have a couple extras and can toss one in a envelope, just shoot me a PM if you need one.

ETA: We were both posting at the same time. Offer still stands if you get stuck for one. :)

Just to clarify since I obviously think you guys can read my mind, I sent my old board to Evolv with that white connector still attached. I know, I know, you're supposed to send back "just the board" but I was in a hurry.

At least I remembered to remove my screen! LOL

I'm sure if Mike were within driving distance, he'd come over just to slap me upside da head, tease me with a pastrami sammich, then leave without another word.

Are you sure there isn't a jst hiding in the box, maybe under the foam or stuffing? The two times I sent 200's back they have always sent me both a new screen and jst even though I told them in the notes the screens were OK, that's how I've ended up with spares. I had another box with no screen, or so I thought until I pulled the foam and found it tucked between the foam and the side of the box, guess it depends on who packs them at the shop.

Thought I'd try one more thing before replacing the wick, I blocked off one more hole leaving just one wide open, rotated the base a tad so the open hole is pointing straight at the coil and voila, nice flavor! Tighter draw then I care for but the flavor is good. I tried cutting the air flow back on the two open holes before this and it didn't help, now this has me thinking coil position in relation to air flow may be key? So now where to go? I'd like to get back to two holes wide open, ideas? Maybe a new coil positioned farther away from the posts so the coil gets better cross flow from the air holes? Right now, if you pull the drip tip and look down the tube the coil is centered almost directly under, set back away from the air holes so the flow is just crossing more toward the front of the coil.

No dice - no JST or screen hiding in the foam. They must've been in a hurry or something cuz my Help Desk ticket is still open. :(

Thanks for the offer! I think I'm good to go...looks like I'll also have extra JST connectors for whoever needs them.
Actually I am short 1, can you save me one please?

Maybe we can work out a trade, I might could find a screen if you needed it.

My son and I got to talking about that, he made the comment that how could McDonalds not have blocked super size me... But "they" are able to block this... I said I doubted McDonald's had any political lobbyist or influence. I would hate to think the movie could be stopped or blocked? Admittedly I don't understand how a movie release is done or handled.

I have read that my area is the second most populated "vape dense" area in the country behind Los Angeles. I don't know thats accurate or not, but I know we have several smaller theaters that play indie movies like this all the time (not AMC, Cinemark, regal, etc). My point is I would think the vape shops alone would be able to sell 100 tickets? I'm assuming that's part of the requirements to getting it shown in your area.
