ECF Towers
The ECF New Members forum is for people new to ECF, or new to posting on ECF.

It's for beginners; for ecig users who are new to ECF; and for the experienced who may well have been ECF Members for some time but who have never posted before (what we call 'lurkers' :) )

The New Members board has two important purposes:
1. It is the place where anyone new to ECF should start, whether or not they are a beginner
2. It allows us to keep a lid on the huge volume of spam we get

Before we had the NM board, our Moderators were buried under a torrent of spam they had to fight off 24/7, and which was often buried deep in the far recesses of ECF (we have millions of posts stretching back many years to 2007). It was an impossible task, and the mods suffered from burnout as a result. Now the spam is easily dealt with as it mostly appears in the one place, and Members report it as soon as it shows up. Job done.

Of course, this situation may be frustrating for experienced ecig users, those who are what might be called long-term vapers. They probably don't want to be asking other experienced vapers about a microcoil built with a bamboo wick on their rba, in a new member area. Unfortunately there is no simple fix for this issue: people just need to get a few posts done & out of the way, then they can move off elsewhere.

The mods will move specific questions that have a better home, and the OP (original poster: the person who started the thread) should be able to go to the new home of the thread and participate there, once they have 5 posts.

If you've been around awhile, you might also consider not lurking (viewing but not posting) and get a few posts done & dusted, so that when something of importance to you comes up, you're not restricted to the NM area. Just a thought.
