istick 50 watt exploded

Hey guys long time lurker but since this happened I had to post. Me and my girlfriend bought an istick 50 watt about 3 weeks ago, and last night I plugged if up to chatge, woke up unplugged it and went dang this thing is hot. 2 mins later it goes kaboom and catches on fire. Just figured I'd post this up to warn others. Don't trust the chargee to turn off the voltage to your batteries. I'm trying to upload pics but says file is too large.

Nope unplugged it and went to the bathroom. If I hadn't it would have been in my hand haha. I'm glad it wasn't but, I thought they were supposed to have charging protection?

Unless something else like a bad cable or elec source. What did you use to connect?

Normal USB charger same one we use one all our electronics... It even took out an rba too. Melted the insulator.

Whoa... Its a shame that you joined ECF for something like this. Maybe there was a short somewhere inside the device?

Took it to the shop where we got and they replaced it for us and think it was caused by something in the charging system.

This is crazy! I have the 20W. I don't use it much, but I'll remember to never leave it on the charger!

Charging bags are never a bad idea. Ive always been paranoid about leaving vape hardware plugged in after its done charging, or leaving it plugged in and leaving the house. Then again, im paranoid about leaving batteries inside mech mods too

Not the first time someone mentioned this with the actual charger itself. I absolutely refuse to use it. Even the eleaf brand wall adapter gets hot and makes the mod hot in a matter of 5 minutes. I won't use something that gets hot that fast. I charge mine using the USB cable and have it plugged into my laptop. Not once has it gotten warm. Glad you're okay though and weren't holding it.

We didn't even get an eleaf charger with it. Just used a 5v .7mah charger.

WoW! that realy sucks, altho i do like the colour of it now lol, glad you didnt get hurt, i have a couple friends with them and they have never had an issue might have been just that one, hope the next one works better, Happy vaping!

I almost didn't wanna give it up haha. I liked the color on that side haha. The other side..... Not so much lol. I'm just glad it was on the floor.

Glad you and your girl are ok. That coulda been real bad......
The 50's have been known to autofire like mine here did. I pulled the atty off before it got too hot. It never stopped tryin to fire. iSmoka has a 90 day warranty on em.

I use the usb cable that came with it through an apple or other rando usb wall adapter in a surge protector and havent noticed the istick getting warm
