Thanks. Good to know. I'm mostly interested in the mod--not so much the tank. I like my Eleaf GS TC tank.

I agree with you Katya...I LOVE my GS Tanks!

The BEST price I've run across for the eVic VTC Mini (ie. Mod only) is $44.90.

Joyetech eVic VTC Mini Box Mod - $44.99

At ecig.com the eVic VTC Mini PLUS the eGo One Mega is $41.80 (with code turbo ).

So...save $3...buy the Mod + Topper...throw the Topper out the window...attach your GS Tank...

(They're OOS at the moment...but according to posts in the "eVic VTC Mini" thread they should be restocked by the week-end.)

That one looks a lot like the original KBox except for the digital screen.

I noticed that Also.

For 27 Bucks, I'd almost give it a Try. That is, If I didn't have a Small Army of Mods standing in Parade Formation on my Desk.

Still might Anyway though. LOL

It is cheap. Too bad there are no reviews. I'm always nervous about what kind of board those off brand mods use. Looks like there is no on board charging, which is probably a good thing.

I have 2 original KBoxes that are in storage. Saving them for an emergency. I like the way they feel in my hand and how light they are. Don't care for the lack of screen or the fixed center pin.

I'm gonna keep an eye on that one.

Yeah... It could be a Complete POS. Or it could be a Very Light Great Mod with a Removable Battery for less than 30 Dollars.

Hard to say without a couple of Reviews.

BTW - One Reason I like seeing at Least One Review is that the 1st Review can Point Out something Glaring.

I remember seeing a Inexpensive Mod like this one once on Fast Tech. Looked Great. But No Reviews. I Hemmed and Hawed for a Couple of Days over getting it. Finally said Screw It. Why Not just Do It?

But when I went Back to FT, it Did have a Review. And it said that the Mod Worked Great. EXCEPT that it would go to Sleep after 5 Minutes and that hand to be Woken Up again by hitting the Power Button 5 Times.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? That would Drive me Crazy!

Needless to say I passed on it.

Yeah, I've been checking on the iStick 30w "Styled" boards on Fasttech waiting to read some reviews. Well, there is one now that gives some disappointing news. Something to the effect of "Works but doesn't have all the functions". Too bad because it could be used as a replacement board or for a DIY box.

Got the Joyetech VTC mini from cignot today - thanks Vicki....

Comparisons....

left to right
istick 30, Kanger Kbox mini/subox, Joyetech VTC mini
Eleaf GS Air MS(absinthe :- ), GS Air M, GS Air TC

Side view - Kbox mini and VTC mini. The GS Air TC fits flush (on both)

Phil-like nit pick :)
Below is why I like the rounded Kbox mini (like the Defender) a bit better for 'feel in hand'. And for my hand, the VTC mini fits better than the istick where the istick is small enough I have to bend my finger off the mod to get a good firing on the button. With both the Kbox mini and the VTC mini the 'wrap' of the fingers fully around the mods are perfect for firing. ymmv of course. Because the VTC mini isn't curved, the larger fire button helps. Nice button push as well - no shaky, no looseness, solid. Low frequency soft click.

That said - the VTC mini has the spring loaded center pin, TC for Ni and Ti, I like the display - they feel about the same weight - nearly the same size/dimensions.

The VTC mini ran the Ni coils just fine - just like it's big brother VT. Very simple with replaceable coils. Usually vape around 13W for the flavor - espresso - but cranked it up to 30W - nice but still prefer the lower wattage. Just had it a day but so far nothing that I don't like about it and everything functioning as it's supposed to.

Here's (below) the two minis with the iJoy Asolo on the left. The iJoy has the kanthal temp control/phil says taste control - but it actually does the same math at 4 decimal points vs. 2 and as Phil says it does what it's supposed to do. And while he had 'mixed results' on some aspects - mainly the off wattages at 100 and 200W - vaping at never above 15W (except for 'trying out features on a new purchase' , the Wattages are in an acceptable range and vape much like any other mod I have at the same wattage. Hopefully they'll have a mini version in the future... :- )

Thanks, Kent!

Yeah, I like the curved edges, too.

What temperature setting did you use for your TC coils?

I set it at 420° and went up/down, etc. When I vaped the VT in TC mode I set it at 400°. Ni coil at .15Ω  Getting some Ti coils for the eGo One soon .4Ω.

Yep curved edges :thumb: An important 'interface' for me. I ordered a Subox Nano.... since the Kbox mini order fell through...

Funny, isn't it? I grabbed one of my eGo threaded clearos yesterday to sample a new eliquid (Aerotank mini) and I put it on my MVP2. It felt like a brick in my hand. And it used to be my favorite battery less than a year ago.
