Pressure cooker for sterilizing

It is indeed possible to sterilize most things in a pressure canner / cooker; the rule of thumb is to process the clean item 10 minutes at 10# of pressure. If you were going to be a stickler about it you'd allow it to vent first 10 minutes before pressurizing, and cool naturally afterward (no quenching).

But the intense heat may melt things like post insulators, poor quality orings, etc. Glass and metal would be fine.

Did a little test at low pressure, but it didn't go very well. ;)

Thank you! Thought I had to clean new bottles, so it's a relief that I don't! A pressure cooker is fast to get going, but I think I will use it for food only. :)

I think Any new bottle you buy should be Cleaned before you put an e-liquid in it. But just a hand wash in Mild Soap n' Water seems like it should be sufficient.

Putting Inexpensive Glass Bottles in Boiling Water is a good recipe for how to Crack a Glass Bottle.

And putting a LDPE Bottle in Boiling Water can be akin to Melting green army men with a Lighter.
