hi guys just got the Griffin tank and loving it!! What's the best coil set up for the best flavor? Less wraps ? Bigger diameter? Right now I'm running a dual 7 wrap 24 gauge kanthal 3.5 mm diameter dual coil and producing great flavor! I was thinking of doing a 4 wrap dual coil? Also how does the avocado compare to the Griffin as far as taste goes? Should I just go to a rda ? I'm not crazy about not having a tank and having to re drip every 4-6 puffs. Any tips or advice would be great!!

It's RTA's, (R.ebuildable T.ank A.tomizers), vs RDA's, (R.ebuildable D.ripping A.tomizers). Each type has obvious advantages and disadvantages, so which is "better" will depend on subjective preferences. There are multiple inexpensive options on the market for each type, so imo one should own both.

"RDTA" is a marketing ploy; they're RTA's that the manufacturers are claiming deliver as much flavor as an RDA. While that may or may not be true, one can't drip with them, so adding that "D" to the acronym is inaccurate.

Some dual coil rtas I have and tried that produced great flavor. In order of preference.

Alleria / Conqueror
Billow v2 and v3
Goblin mini v2
Moonshot
Supreme
Bellus
@rice721 thanks will check them out!! I'm enjoying the Griffin now that I'm wicking it properly getting amazing flavor. I've heard of the moonshot before.

I can drip with my Aromamizer....Why would I, is the question. The RDTA is a different design than most RTA's as well, more of a bottom feed than a side fed unit.

@7sixtwo thanks! I'm vaping the Griffin now and the flavor is the best I've experienced so far from vaping 8 weeks. The crown which I was using before I thought was the best the Griffin blows it out of the water. I was hoping rdta would provide the flavor of a dripper without the hassle of having to drip every few puffs. You find rda's much better than RTA's?

So do u find you get better flavor from rdta's then RTA's ?

I find RDTA's to be airier than RTAs, flavor I'm not so sure. I have the billow v3 (RTA) and the Supreme (RDTA) in rotation right now. Actually prefer the billow.

One thing I do notice about RDTAs is that they're a wetter tank since the coil is just sitting behind the side airflow hole which causes any juice condensation to make the tank wetter than a regular RTA.

[edit] forgot to mention. Dual 24g 8 wrap kanthal 0.46ohm in the Billow & Dual 26/32 8 wrap kanthal clapton 0.53ohm in the Supreme. Both 3.0mm IAD.

You can drip with a kayfun.
Doesnt make it an RDA.

The avocado is a genesis tank designed to use cotton.

Its a knock off of the Genius tank, which uses Stainless rope to feed juice up to cotton wicks.

Its not a dripper.

I have a Billow too, they are awesome tanks as well. I just like the simplicity of the aromamizer.

Splitting hairs, I know, but there are actual dripping tanks. There is a storage tank above the coil that you "pump" to drip juice onto the coil as needed. Not that popular, but they can be found.
Sorry for the interruption and didn't mean to confuse the OP.

@Jdurand excuse my ignorance so what category would the Aromamizer fall in? Is it just like and rta tank? Sorry fairly new to vaping still about nine weeks now no analogs :)

Basically anything rebuildable with a compartment usually made of glass (sometimes metal sometimes glass/metal hybrid, sometimes high grade plastic, etc) is an RTA - Rebuildable Tank Atomizer

Anything that doesn't hold juice and requires dripping is an RDA - Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer (dripper?)

RDTA is just a subsection of RTA that manufactures conjured to separate them from the masses, RTAs. Its basically an RTA but with a slight variation as stated by @Jdurand where the juice goes below the deck and comes up from beneath instead of just from the sides as you see on the Griffin.

Btw if you want to try something a bit different with the Griffin, you could do a dual vertical build. Here's a video from DJLSB vapes (love this guy and his reviews). Seems interesting yet more of a hassle and it seems to provide more flavor than a horizontal build (according to him) but I haven't tried so can't comment.

The aromamizer line has a few options

You have

Aromamizer V1 (comes in small and regular juice capacity options) - reviews were pretty bad
Aromamizer V2 (comes also in 2 size juice capacity) - updated version of v1
Aromamizer Supreme (comes also in 2 size juice capacity 4 and 7ml) - this is the one I have.

@rice721 the vertical coil set up looks intriguing. I noticed he stuffed the cotton pretty deep in the juice wells there no? I've been stuffing the cotton in the wells just where the groove is for the ring and I'm going on my third day no issues amazing taste :)

I thought that it was going to be too much cotton but saw he was using SS316L wires and thought he was going to vape it under temp control (so you really can't get dry hits, theoretically). But then he started vaping it in power mode.

But if you look at the way he cuts his cutton its at an angle, so the tapered part is whats in the juice channels, so I guess that is enough for the cotton to wick well.

Oh so aromamizer is the name of the company?

I believe the company is called Steam Crave and Aromamizer is just their line of RTAs/RDTAs
