You think you understand how a coil works. What surface area means. How wattage works..

Then design me a coil that works better than this one on a regulated mod.

That is a Kanthal A1 triple parallel 32 awg coil, 7mm wide with a ID of 2.5mm in a Velocity rda, the dual coils have a resistance of 0.86Ω (1.72Ω per coil). It will make enough vapor to choke a donkey. (not that I would ever try, that's just cruel...)

Oh yea, You have 40W to work with. This is an efficiency challenge.

I want the theory behind the coil you propose. The build specs, wire guage, wrap count, etc.

I will build and try any that show promise.

This is a thread to educate the general builder, not show off pretty coil art. If I wanted that I would have put this in the Coil building sub-forum.

Interesting... Forgive me my ignorance but where does the 'triple' part come into the build?
I see two coils which seem to consist of two? wires each.

I'll give this one a try, seems good use for my 32g kanthal which been catching dust lately. Might even pick up the glove and give your challenge a go.

I only see 2 strands, too, but say that's pretty cool for max surface area while keeping resistance up.

I'm not a great coil builder. What I seem to be good at is getting wicking right for RTAs.

Try using a scanner rather than a camera. Scan all sorts of stuff on a flat bed scanner I picked up a thrift store for $5. Who cares if you scratch the glass, have an all in one for documents.
