So I emailed yihi regarding their new chip release capabilities and that the rumors had hem not updating the older software/ firmware

I had been one person discussing at length with them the benefits of stainless steel so seeing the new m class getting it and the old not deserved an email to them

I received this response.

"Thanks for your email and sorry for our late reply.
Just back to office from our long national holiday today.

We will release the software for M Class to support stainless steel. Pls do not worry. Because our team went to Paris convensation and after national holiday so delay.
Software will be release earlier of next week. Engineer department doing the final testing those days.
Regarding to other functions, if we can we will try our best to do. but we do hope you and other users can understand: Technical is updating always like iphone, some new technial or functions only available on the new board. what we can do we will try our best not let our users disappointed.

We appreciate for your email, time and suggestion"

I hope some of you find this information useful.

Right behind you...
I'm not big on doing this sort of thing, but just this once, I feel it's justified:

Well I mean to compete with the DNA200, YiHi is releasing an SX Mini ML class (now they're copying Mercedes Benz with their names), with a new sx350j v2 chip inside of it. Hopefully the sx350j gets a SS temp update, but I'm pretty sure they're more focused on getting their v2 chip programming down and their computer software running without problems. And also putting the sx350j v2 into what is essentially an SX Mini v2.

I have no problem with that though. At least in their development of the new chip, they are figuring out another update for the old one. We have never been able to turn a DNA30 into a DNA40, nor have we been able to upgrade our DNA40s through their 5 (?) revisions of that chip.

I have no clue how many revisions Evolv has gone through on their DNA chips. I've never owned a DNA chipped mod. I'm not biased towards either company, but in my opinion YiHi is doing it better right now. All of the DNA 200 mod's have such low mAh capacities compared to a single 18650 mod like the SX Mini. I don't use temp control, my father does with the ipv4 I bought him for his birthday, my highest wattage mod is an original Sigelei 100w.
But back on topic, YiHi's SX Mini has gone through so many updates, and has been bumped up from 60w to 75w via update.
The ML class starts at 75w, but in series can go up to 150w. It's just a dam shame YiHi went with the same exact design (plus ugly branding on the back) which means if you want to run it in dual 18650 series, it's gonna have that dumb tube sticking down the bottom. The ONE thing that ever prevented me from buying one is that problem. The flaw preventing me from buying a DNA 200 mod is the 3S LiPo mAh capacity & if you buy a dual 18650 series version, it's limited to 133w.

I'm probably just going to buy a CloudMaker Whiteout with a DNA 200 chip on board & buy an extra LiPo and a dual 18650 battery sled for the chip. Then when YiHi releases the sx350j v2 to other manufacturers, I'll probably buy that chip kit to be interchangeable with the DNA 200.

There are 2 battery sx350j mods. The Cloudmaker being one. And Yihi is working on one with an expected release in December. I'm saving to get one.

I was talking about the SX Mini in particular. Since i first saw it I've been wanting one, but the way the series set up is on it is a major con for me. I love the form factor, I've had an ipv mini since late February early March that has been collecting dust because of the crap sx-130 chip inside of it. I'm waiting for the first release of the Whiteouts to be in people's hands before buying one, as I don't want to spend $200 (+ LiPo cost, battery sled cost, panel kit cost, & $75 for the sx350j chip kit) into a first run that may have flaws

Totally understand. For me, 75W is enough most of the time. And 100W is enough for me all the time, apparently.

So I'm waiting to see the new Yihi mod, but its possible I will buy or make a different mod with 2 batteries and the sx chip. I like two batteries for anything over 50W for the run time.

Yeah 100w had been all I've had since I got into regulated mods. The highest I'll go is around 80 and that's to hit 4.0v-4.2v on a low ohm build.
The new SX Mini ML class looks identical to the regular S/M classes (no, not those S&M classes), except for a gigantic engraved "SX Mini" on the back. They essentially made it ugly. If they could make a mod that's shaped like a Zero SX mod that could fit dual 18650 that'd be a nice mod. My guess is they'll take the IPV4 form and expand off that. Make it with better quality internals & the weight the SX Mini has to it. It just feels like a solid mod while the IPV mini & IPV4 feel lighter and cheaper.

February early March that has been collecting dust because of the crap sx-130 chip inside of it.

That Crap chip worked fine in Both my Mini's and got my wife into vaping :D

Maybe it just was not what you were expecting:blink:

I also use my Mini2 constantly. When I grab my SXMM I usually have the mini2 on my lap:lol:
I also think they did one heck of a good chip in the D2 - Just wish YiHi would force P4Y to allow updates:-x

Just DL'ed the New Test Firmware and hope to get it installed later today. To busy being in pain right now to focus on doing it right. Do not want to ruin my SXMM.

You have the mini v2! That's a sx330! Not a 130... Problem was it read my Atlantis .5Ω coils at .4. And the chips cut off is at .5, so it couldn't work at .4, but it did...made no sense. I re-wired all of the leads from the 510/battery to the chip with a thicker gauge wire, and it helped a little. The problem is in the 510 connection itself on the IPV Mini 30w (v1 not the v2)

By the way - new sx350j firmware update allows for SS and a custom input TCR curve
