Awesome. I am definitely in for one of these
.
Yep, V2 chip:

I assume the dual 18650 will also go v2 in November. Probably all depends on Yihi.
What is new with the v2 chip? Should I wait to purchase until then...?
That is really, really cool! Pardon my ignorance, but does the 26650 have advantages over dual 18650s compared to dual 18560s other than just being one battery? Dimensions say it is a four tenths of an inch longer in depth but roughly four tenths of an inch less wide than the dual 18650 SX Boxer.
I could be mistaken, but i don't think there is much of a difference anymore between v1 and v2. Initially yihi was saying that the v2 would be for the newer wires and manual TCR. But they have since decided to update the firmware on v1 to allow this. The only other thing currently shown looks to be the software, ala escribe, but that may(?) also work with v1? Maybe there will be other changes that they have not announced yet?
26650's never really caught on. They are obviously a bit fatter than 18650's and are better suited for mech mods that can take advantage of the super high amperage 50/60+. But they also have higher mAh ones 4200/5200 that have lower amps but still 20/30 which is more than adequate for a regulated mod. Benefit is, as you pointed out, you can have a smaller unit while still having the run time equal to or greater than a dual 18650 if you don't plan on vaping over 75 watts. The single battery will also allow for USB charging as you could with a dual unit if it was wired in parallel.
So my understanding then is that the 26650 still is 3.7 volts and thus the SX350 would not be able to be run at more than 75 watts despite the capability for that type of amperage although you are getting similar or greater mAH in a smaller package?
I wouldn't say that 26650s never caught on. They are fairly popular among high end regulated mods, just not among cheaper mass-produced devices. I'd say that if one wants improved battery life, but needs something pocketable, the 26650 is a good option. If you want max battery capacity, pockets be damned, the dual 18650 is the better option.
Hey man, there was a Boxer DNA 133 thread on here but it seems to have been removed. Any idea why???
Thanks dude, just a little baffled as was gonna post a few things...
It surely does seem to have vanished. I thought you were mistaken, so I searched and I failed to find that thread. I suppose somebody thinks Yihi folks oughta get along with Evolv folks or sump'n.
Anyone know what happened to the boxer dna200w thread?
