so i got my ZAP in today and it has a weird taste kinda like a burnt metallic taste to it anyone have an idea of what this could be

I just got mine in the mail today as well. Did you check your coils to make sure everything was good before you put juice in?
I have no metal taste in mine, taste great for 1st vape after dialed in.

It could be due to the large air hole on the ZAP. I have some atomizers with large holes and the airy cool vape has a metallic taste if using at a lower voltage. Try cranking up the voltage until it's warmer...you should notice improved flavor as well.

 

[Trick]

A burnt metallic taste is always going to be the result of a hotspot, or a short in the coil. Turn down the voltage and fire it with the cap off a few times to burn off the juice on the wick, and then a few more times for a bit longer. Chances are you'll see it's not glowing evenly, and a little poking around at the coils in the general vicinity of where it's glowing should hopefully get rid of the hotspot.

thanks for the reply yellow yea i checked and everything is fine no hotspots its weird i vaped crunch berries on the first tank and it was perfect finshed did a few dry burns put some menthol in here and kinda weird taste...i feel like maybe the wick isnt getting juice on it...thats the only way i can describe the taste

@yellowrider if you dont mind me asking are you using the stock wick and wire and what volt are u vaping at

stock coil and wick that came with it. I just went gradually up and now I am good @ 4volts. I had to lightly poke the coils to get them to glow evenly.

i just double checked everything and im gunna gradually work my way up...currently at 3.5 volts and everything is fine

New hot spots can develop over time. You may need to do it again. That taste is a telltale sign of a hotspot.

so after a little bit i bumped up the volts 3.7 good... 4.0 weird taste again...did little experiment took some juice put it on the wick vaped taste awesome...is it possible no juice is getting to the wick?

Possible, didn't you say this was the second flavor? and you had no issues with the first tank...correct? Are they the same juices? (Vendor)

yea this is the second tank two different flavors first was crunch berries(upstomp) and this one is menthol strong(bwb) and yea first tank was fine...how would i go about correcting this if possible thanks

If it were me, I would go back to the Crunch Berry and chalk it up to "The Learning Curve" once you become more familiar with the tank set-up and how it works......venture back to the menthol.
Do you know the break down of the juices 70/30, 80/20, 50/50 ?

im not sure of the ratio off hand but im gunna switch juices back and see if that helps thanks
