Can you substitute a VV reg for a 5v reg?

Been making a bunch of VV's lately, but what if I want a 5v instead. Couldn't I just replace the 5v reg with a VV reg with FIXED resistors? LM350T's like I use in my VVs (based on Donptal's Poorvari) are cheaper than 5v regs. Just wondering?????

    My new vv mod

Yah, I know it ain't fancy, but it works great and it only cost me a few bucks to make :) Hi, made this for a lodge brother, by special request. I did not take pictures as I built it, though I thought you may find it interesting ... It is based on Donptal's "Poorvari" and provides up to 3...

Any mods out there for dripping only?

Well, The Gecko WAS a dripper mod that was given away in a contest a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, it was murdered by the USPS :(

I have an idea, can YOU tell me how to make it?

Craig, excellent information, thank you very much. Regarding the touch-pad resistor, I was told (maybe incorrectly) that without it, you may have pocket firing in a pocket with change or keys in it. Now that I think about it, it would still fire in the pocket even with the resistor :) That is a...

I have an idea, can YOU tell me how to make it?

You are right, I just personally use the same basic circuit, no matter whether it's a tact switch or touch-switch circuit. There's no harm in using a larger pull-down resistor, works fine in my experience and besides I bought a whole bucket full of them :) Besides, I may be wrong, but I think it...

Making The Boxmod 102 .. The Big Screw-Up

Yay for Tx!!!! You better watch out, it's really addicting (in a good way) .. I started out making one for myself, now I am making basic mods like these to help my friends kick the habit. Let's see ..... it's 7 so far I have built to give away. My only prob is finding a cheap source for 14500's...

Making The Boxmod 102 .. The Big Screw-Up

Well, I gave my lodge brother his new mod, with a 1/2 dozen cartomizers, 2 bottles of juice, battery and charger tonite. He took a big drag on 24mg Virginia MV chicom juice, he coughed and sputtered and turned green :) He said "WOW, that's great!" That's good, I thought he was gonna clobber me...

I have an idea, can YOU tell me how to make it?

OK, let's see .... it is wrong. The atty + should go straight to the B+ line, not thru a tactile switch. The tactile switch goes ONLY to the GATE. Otherwise, you will be drawing a couple of amps thru the tact switch, you will burn it out. Yes, you need a draw-down resistor (about 2-4 meg would...

Making The Boxmod 102 .. The Big Screw-Up

Tonite I promised a lodge brother I would make him a 3.7v boxmod, just like the one I made last nite for my in-laws. So, cocky as I am, I decided to go out to the drillpress and get busy drilling holes. Guess what? I drilled all the holes on the wrong side of the box .. Look (last nite on the...

The Making of a 3.7 Volt Boxmod 101

It's time to think Outside The Box (so to speak) .. don't glue the box inside, glue the lid in (or better, double-stick tape). Then load up the box and slide it, upsidedown, onto the lid. Snap!! It's in place and you have your master switch accessible!! Heck, you could even mount your atty...
