Lots of interesting reading there, thanks for the link.
If any ADULT asked me if they should vape with nicotine as a non-tobacco user, I'd ask a few questions
1. Have you looked into the health effects and addictive properties of nicotine?
2. Have you looked into the safety of inhaling PG...
I take a rather opposite view. Why would anyone who doesn't already smoke or vape, want to vape if not for the nicotine? I just don't see the point. Not that I'm going to expend any effort to talk them out of it, but it seems like a lot of trouble to go through for little benefit. Sure, go...
I'm under the impression that while fruit flavors may have diacetyl, the concentration is an order of magnitude lower than what is in butter/cream/custards. I'd be interested if anyone had more solid facts on this.
Do you know the PG/VG ratio of your e-liquid?
What I've found is that 100% VG will make me sneeze, or give me an all over congested feeling.
I found that I do OK when I used at least 50% PG, even better with 60 to 70% PG.
Concern over diacetyl has been around for several years now, enough that many vendors moved away from diacetyl already. Realization that the substitutes are likely to be just as troublesome is more recent.
It's more likely the same 37 people checking the thread a hundred times each, as it goes back and forth without making any real progress. I doubt anyone reading or participating has changed their pre-existing opinions one bit.
I don't even want to count how many vials of flavoring I've got and don't use.
I don't think I'm a super taster, I've just gotten more accustomed to subtle flavoring. What do you think about vaping unflavored? I'm starting to enjoy it.
I can see how my statement was less than completely clear. I didn't mean that all of us doing testing needed to use the same ratio, just that each of us should mix all of our own tested samples to the same ratio.
From the linked survey -
So one person out of 120 did report adverse effects. You keep saying these people don't exist. Could it have been caused by prior smoking? Sure. And the adverse effects from years of smoking are much, much worse. I'm not saying that one person self-reporting proves...
What are you trying to say? It reads as if you are saying every single flavor, in every category, either has diacetyl, AP or Butric Acid in it. I'd really like more detail if that's what you are saying. Or did you mean all creams/custard flavors contain one of those?
I picked up a couple of those from FastTech. They work well. As long as you remember to twist the top cap closed again after filling. I don't know why I'm so prone to forgetting, I never forget to put the screw back in on the ones I bottom fill.
Still happily MTL tootling on my KFs.
