No, the board being extended is what is causing the problems. even if you remove the pins, the unit still will not fit. you would have to file the board flush against the display to get it to fit and find new contact points to solder to.
Okay so I found a volt meter while I was cleaning out my stash earlier. The meter with the pins will NOT fit, BUT, the meter without the extended board and pins WILL absolutely fit.
That's not a bad deal for pre soldered. just keep in mind that your mod will now be a "tilt and squeeze" since the needle won't run all the way down into the bottle. Not that big of a deal and I personally think it's the better way to go for atomizers. There's nothing worse than trying to...
I think the type of meter will determine whether or not it will fit in the 5ml tube.
A meter like this probably won't fit due to the wider board, even if you de-solder the pins:
I have 2 like the one pictured above and 1 like the one pictured in my first post in the mail right now; most...
It depends.
Atomizers are notorious for leaking with this type of setup. Using thicker juices and thicker gauge syringes helps prevent leaks but will not stop them all together. You must be vigilant when squonking the bottle if using an atomizer. A 16g needle works well for atomizers, but...
Very nice for your first mod. I like it, definitely want to try a wood mod myself.
If you don't mind me asking, How did you hollow out the inside of the wood?
I'm going to use an old flanged carto trimmed to size and epoxied to the end caps for the end pieces. I'll take some detailed pics once I do it to better explain myself.
The connection between the bottle and carto is quite simple really. It's just your standard 808-D/901 connector with a large hole (a 510 will not fit in this mod, trust me. Turns out, I like the 901's flavor better than the 510 anyway) and a standard 3ml dropper bottle with the dropper tip...
You can buy the switches from MadVapes with either 100g or 300g actuation pressure. The switch I'm using has a 200g actuation pressure and I bought a bunch in bulk at onlinecomponents.com
Anyone ever give this a shot?
I ordered a smoked 5ml tank and one of these from eBay to use:
Should be a couple weeks till it arrives. Just need to order a silver 510 connector and I'll be able to bang it out.
I had one of these built previously, but it had some flaws. I wired the trimmer backwards and it bothered me so I tried to put in a new one wired the correct way. Well I fried the chip so I took my time and built another with a nicer trimmer. Here it is:
2xAA enclosure
808-D/901 connector...
That 10ml bottle is going to be way too big to fit inside an AA sized enclosure. Biggest you can fit in that enclosure is a 3ml bottle.
Also, If you want to cut down on the size of the enclosure, You can make it all fit into a 3 x AA enclosure if you swap out the green horn button switch for...
I have two 5v kits ready to ship.

Second one is a 5v regulated 3AAA mod, comes with 2 Trustfire protected 10440 batteries and a stainless steel 2.8 ohm...
Just finished building this little gem. Auto, USB rechargeable 1AA mod. Didn't think it was all going to fit in there but I got it to work. I got a few 1AA boxes lying around so I'm going to make a few more of these. $30.00 shipped includes a 2ft USB a to Mini B cable.
Thanks!
I'm not sure I could incorporate VV and bottom feeding in anything smaller than a 4AA box without sacrificing battery life. I just might be able to squeeze a VV board in a 3AA. I'm always up for a good challenge so I'll give it a shot next time I get a chance to tinker in the shop.
No problem! Thank You for the kind words :)
I am here to support you guys. Comments, concerns, questions, constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcome here. I want to make these mods affordable and tailored to the users needs.
Just finished building 9 bottom feeders with a textured black/charcoal shimmer paint. $20.00 shipped while supplies last! Kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but the finish has quite the shine.
