    No, the board being extended is what is causing the problems. even if you remove the pins, the unit still will not fit. you would have to file the board flush against the display to get it to fit and find new contact points to solder to.

    Thanks! I'm not sure I could incorporate VV and bottom feeding in anything smaller than a 4AA box without sacrificing battery life. I just might be able to squeeze a VV board in a 3AA. I'm always up for a good challenge so I'll give it a shot next time I get a chance to tinker in the shop.
