I had intended to add this to my old thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...96-istick-porn-plus-personal-impressions.html ,but I discovered it had been closed, so I've created a new one for the 30w.

I've had my two 20w Isticks for almost 4 months now and they still look and function like new. No issues whatsoever.

I picked up the 30w about a week ago as I plan to get a larger capacity tank which will blend well with the new flared top cap, plus I want to get the new Eleaf Melo when it becomes available here in Ontario. Where I got the 30w I also bought the Beyond Vapes Silo Lite; I'll later gives some thoughts on that as well.

After using the 30w mostly with the Silo and occasionally with the Naughty Mini, it has performed flawlessly with both tanks. I had heard about the button rattle but wasn't much concerned. After all, the buttons rattle at varying amounts on most of my mods and ego batts which never really bothered me, so I figured it would be pretty much the same. Well I wasn't prepared for the kind of rattle on the 30w. I mean this thing is feckin' baby rattle!
I've since reduced the rattle quite a bit by placing a single drop of thin viscosity non-conductive oil at the edge of each button. It then seeped in and damped the contact surfaces and dulled the rattle. It also tends to make the buttons a bit lighter to press.

As everyone else has noted, Eleaf have fixed the major issues known in the 20w. Aside from the bump up in power, the threads are stainless steel and the center pin is spring loaded. To blend the Istick with larger tanks (22 - 23mm), I actually think Eleaf did a very creative job designing the new top-cap. Redesigning only the top-cap allowed the tooling for the rest of the case to remain the same, which minimized additional cost, but it also allowed more room in the cap to add the sprung pin. I say kudos to whoever thought that up.
Eleaf also seem to have brought the displayed power and output more in line with other regulated devices; in my experience, I now have to run the displayed volts on the 30w about 1 volt higher than the 20w to get the same cook of my juice. The output of the 20w never bothered me but it's still nice to have consistency with the majority of other devices.
Also new for the 30w is the ability to lock the up/down buttons by pressing them at the same time. Unexpected was the ability to flip the display by pressing both up/down buttons while the devise is powered off.

Ok enough of my rambling - here's a bit of Istick 30w Porn:

About that Beyond Vapes Silo Lite; I had originally hoped to get the regular size Silo but its just too tall. I don't like big mods or overly large tanks that add a lot of height to the combined setup. Unlike the larger Silo which takes the Nautilus BVC coils, the Silo Lite takes the regular BVC coils. Comes with 2 drip tips, both are shorties, one wide bore and the other tight, and 2 coils.

I think it looks made for this Kanger Evod 1600 VV;

I've never tried a tank that takes the regular BVC's but I was very pleasantly surprised after vaping the Lite. I have 3 Naughty Minis and I've always had great performance and a very satisfying vape; well satisfying for the most part. I mix 4 different flavours at different but precise measures to create my preferred juice. The result is a rather light blend of tobacco flavours that are similar to a mild and slightly sweet tiparillo and aromatic pipe tobacco. Its a delicate flavour that easily allows the taste of whatever atomizer or wicking to come through. I always find a new Nautilus BVC to have a machine oil or metallic taste for the first 1 - 2 hours of vaping; then it starts to let the proper flavour of the juice come through nicely.
The BVC in the Lite tasted just right very shortly into vaping, and when settled in, it actually allowed the various flavour to come through better that the Nautilus BVC's. I'm still on my first coil in the Lite so we'll see after a few more coils.
The airflow is not adjustable but the 2 holes in the base are quite open; I'm guessing almost as open as the Naughty Mini wide open. I'm not a lung hitter but it seems me you might be able to with the Lite, or maybe with a bit of slip-streaming.
So I find the flavour and vaper from the Silo Lite about the best I've had from a clearomizer, and perhaps the thing I like most about it is its no bigger than a Naughty Mini and yet it hold 3.5ml opposed to 2 in the Mini and even slightly less if you're using the 'T' tank or Lace tank on the Mini.
And... it seems very well made but is about half the price of the Naughty.

I'll give an update when I get the Eleaf Melo.

Thanks for reading.

Thanks love ;)
If you prefer a less airy draw, you might find the Lite too airy. Interpretations of 'airy' are different of course but for example I prefer the 2nd and 3rd holes on the Nautilus so I found the Silo to be too airy. I just plugged one of the holes with wood glue (carpenters glue) and its fine now, and that glue is easy to poke out with a pin if you want full airflow again.

I forgot to add; the only thing I don't like about the Silo Lite is the air draw is louder than most tanks I've tried. Sitting watching TV with my wife, the sound of 'whoosssh' every time I take a draw is easily heard over any dialogue. Most reviews online don't talk about air noise from tanks but I prefer not to attract attention, both visually and audibly while vaping. Actually the Nautilus Mini is just the opposite; very quiet, the quietest tank I have.

Isticks' takin over the vaping world!!!!!!!!! Hahaha Nice

Nice McIntosh! Old tube model?

Thanks r77r7r; its no wonder the Istick is taking over the vaping world. The new 30w especially has so much going for it, it just does everything so well, and for not much money. I can't see me using anything else until something even better comes along. No doubt that will happen eventually.

That McIntosh amp is only about 14 years old and it is solid state, but all McIntosh sound closer to that 'tube' sound than most other solid state gear.

Well then, perhaps the silo will be too airy for me. :( I also have the nauti mini, and really like how quiet it is. Hmmmmmm...the silo isn't terribly expensive, so may have to get one to check it out.

Intriguing...Silo Lite 3.5ml VS. Nauty Mini 2.0ml

How about the amount of vapor from the Silo Lite vs. the Nauty Mini???

Since I'm too lazy/stupid for dripping/rebuilding I went through a succession of clearomizers and cartotanks before I stopped searching after running across the Nauty Mini. It...on the 2nd smallest AFC hole...with 1.8Ω BVC's...(at 11Watts on my 30Watt-iStick)...gives me the same (or, perhaps, a little more) amount of "smoke" that I use to SO enjoy with my analogs.

Is the Silo Lite similar?

Ok now you're gonna make me write a long post :D
Maybe I should have included the Silo in the thread title. Actually, I think I enjoy talking about the Silo more than the Istick. With all the talk here and everywhere else, its pretty clear that the Istick, especially the 30w, is an irresistibly good little mod. Tiny, comfortable, powerful, ridiculously fast and easy to operate, and affordable to everyone. I'm almost temped to say 'nuff said!'.

gerrymi; you set your Naughty similar to how I do. I also use the 2nd smallest air hole. I smoked for 40 years and began those years with small cigars and pipes, then long time later mixed with mostly cigs. Quitting meant I needed to find a vaping experience as similar to smoking as possible, including the flavour of mild cigars and pipe. I therefore tend to vape the way I smoked a pipe, so I don't do deep lung inhales even after a mouth hit. The Naughty with my personal tobacco blend has done a great job as my main vape for many months.
After a week with the Silo, I'm still on the 1st coil, so my judgment of it is arguably limited. The vape from the Silo is rather different from the Naught but about equally enjoyable as total experience. I know I said the flavour seemed better that the Naught but there are other things I prefer about the Naught, and after a week that flavour has gotten closer to the Naught with coil installed since Jan 7th.
As for your question; I think the Silo may put out a little more vapor than the Naught but the Silo has a very airy draw, so not quite as dense; the Silo hold about 75% more juice that the Naught but I suspect it goes through juice a bit faster. I get more vape time out of a tank on the Silo but not quite 75% more. I would guess the vapor and overall experience is closer to one of those new sub ohm tanks. Not there of course but closer than the Naught.
Which do I prefer? The past few days I'm carrying both around on Isticks with the same juice and I go back and forth; I enjoy their differences. For what its worth, I think the Silo's clean business appearance with its shorty, big bore drip-tip looks the coolest ;)

But like I said, it wouldn't/doesn't bother me at all. Its such a great little device, I can overlook a rattly button.

Yes they are a great little device. Button rattle has never bothered me before, but all 3 buttons rattled on my 30w, like ball-bearings in a little metal box.

Interesting...I have 2 20W-iSticks with NO button rattle.

I had read about the button rattle with the 30W-iStick (in the iStick thread) but had forgotten about it by the time I got mine.

I heard NO rattle for the first 2-3 days of using it. Then I ran across the "button rattle discussion" again...put it up to my ear...shook it...and whadayaknow...all 3 buttons do rattle!!!

Go figure...

At my age, I'd rattle if someone shook me. Why are people obsessed with something so silly? Mods were made to vape not shake and PB looks silly every time he does that.

I seem to have missed a few comments posted to this thread.

There seems to be various amount of button rattle among the 30w sticks. Mine had an unbelievable amount of rattle but a put a drop of fine non-conductive oil down beside the buttons and it muted it quite a bit. The fire button still gives a quick rattle when I remove my finger after a vape, but it sounds like a little ball-bearing so I don't mind it at all.

Love the pics.
This is the 6th time I've come back to this thread to look again.
The one laying down on the clearo with the reflection and the whisping vape..... <gaaah>

Thanks caption! Just another of my passionate hobbies

Normally it doesn't bother me but I didn't have to shake my 30w to hear rattle; it rattled every time I lifted it to vape. It was extremely noticeable until I tamed it.

Mortis - you have series photography skills.
Another shout out to you!

Thanks again cap!

Nice attempt at your photos. Lighting is a key element to good photography. Additional lighting to highlight the detail of your setups would benefit greatly in contrasting them against the dark background; but you would need a camera that allows adjustment of exposure, otherwise the silvery parts may appear too bright or overexposed.

The bottom pic has much more balanced lighting, however the angle of the shot (slightly downward) combined with the focal length of the lens (wide angle) makes the tank look bigger on the Istick than it actually is.

Hope you don't mind my comments; I've tutored many folks on photography, and the urge to offer advise is hard to resist.

I love all of these pictures! I'm looking for a good price on a blue iStick 30W and I'm drooling over these while I shop, lol.

Glad you enjoy everyone's photos here; we all love to see pics.

Some good porn with my custom carbon fiber wraps with cut outs that I make...

Nice work applying that CF wrap! Makes it look like a whole new Istick.
