The difference is, I'd just be dead. I'm pretty much when it's my time it's my time.

yeah, I'd like to think I'm like that too.
Kinney tho, you know he has a whole nex-gen brood of responsibility in his lap. I think he must feel obligated to be present for a bit longer (happily, but still necessarily).

Yes, he does! Three of them isn't it? I don't have that issue though I do enjoy my grandchildren.

Seriously, apparently COVID-19 requires lots of toilet paper? And bottled water? [emoji1787][emoji23]

In fairness, we don't often have anything like getting snowed in. So don't understand these things
This whole panic is irritating me to no end!

There's a lot of misinformation on that definitely. My wife is a doctor, so I take my guidance from her, and she gets hers from WHO/CDC/DOH (our local Department of Health). It's less deadly than SARS, but the fact that it is transmissible before becoming asymptomatic is a concern especially because it has a higher mortality rate than the flu, and no treatment other than management is available.

It won't "kill us all" definitely. But it will hurt if it continues to spread. I for one am concerned for my kids and our parents (who are elderly by now). I don't think it's the end of the world, but I definitely do not want to get it. :D

There's this news that someone in Australia who came from here tested positive. There was another traveler who tested positive when he/she got to her country and he/she came from here. Our country has only reported a handful of cases, but I think there's a growing number of us who think this is under-reporting by our government. My wife has had several possible cases that got turned away from the testing centers and she isn't pleased. The clinic she works in has begun to turn away non-citizens as a precaution.

All the information I have seen shows no indication it is more deadly than the flu. I don't trust the CDC any farther than I can throw them, especially after the vaping debacle! The flu in the US alone has killed over 23,000 people this flu season alone. This is just the latest scare campaign. If it was ebola I would be worried. I refuse to get flu shots so I'm pretty good with keeping things clean but I don't think to be any more diligent than that is going to help. And guess what else isn't going to help, panicking. Buying years worth of toilet paper and enough bleach to clean the ocean. It's out of control. One of the top health officials even chided Washingtons governor today for going, and I quote, "over the top". I am also sick to death of hearing about this all over the internet and it's the only thing the "news" can talk about. Putting things into perspective seems to be out of reach for a whole lot of people.
I'm not understanding how turning away non citizens is going to help unless you mean at ports of entry, otherwise wouldn't they just get more people sick after being turned away?

The numbers are indeed in flux, but so far the numbers show the mortality around 2-3%. Flu is only about 0.1-0.2%. The numbers are in flux because there are probably a lot of undiagnosed cases (like here for example) so it may go up or down.

I'm not panicking though. I am concerned, but not panicking. There is a difference. :D I think it's better to be prepared and to take precautions, but there is no need to panic. :D

I also think we need to consider that many who get it won't realize it's what it is because of the symptoms mirroring a common cold so the numbers could be pretty on par when they can get an idea of how many have actually contracted it.

Yeah. In related news, my wife's sister just informed us there's a new case of nCov near us. There will be an announcement in a few minutes (or probably ongoing by now). A Filipina worker who came home from Saudi tested positive and is now in quarantine in the ICU (intubated). The doctor who saw the case (a friend) is now also in quarantine.

Edit for context: My sister-in-law is a pulmonologist who works in that hospital.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
