Phew - it took a long time to catch up on this
thread after a week away on holiday! Only very expensive and unreliable internet access available on boats and my wife decided we should spend a week cruising the Norwegian Fjords. Actually nearly half the week was spent on the North sea, so not much to see there apart from the occasional oil rig. Beautiful scenery, but the highlight was visiting Bergen - unlike any other town I have seen. Buildings going back to the 13th century and lots of ancient wood faced buildings that seem to have regularly burnt down and been re-built. Even the McDonald's by the docks is housed in one of these

. We opted for smoked salmon in the fish market, yum yum.
So, Norwegian wood anyone?
