I just finished up Tami's, and/but no light. I'na go try and wrap up Slot's body before I call it a day. That'll just leave one for the morning. And then I'll revisit the hats'n'heinies (on account of applying finish to the sides leaves a wee rim that needs a final sand/buff-down) . .. and, if all goes swimmingly, I hope to start in on buttons before end of day.

This looks like a suspicious attempt at keeping the rabble rousers from talking about the dualy's hole. :D

Slightly different hole shape from a Pinch....I suspect that was necessary due to the different side angles....maybe....or Gig may have desired a different hole shape.....maybe...

What's my wood called again Pete? Is that its natural color? A friend was asking me and I did not know the answers lol

Here's Mark's blurb:

California Buckeye (Aesculus californica) is a type of wild Horse Chestnut that grows in California and southern Oregon. Trees will sometimes form large burls just at ground level and below the surface throughout the roots. The wood is an off white color but will develop areas with blue, gray and black coloring. This is caused by a fungus that inhabits the wood as it is drying.

It really is, Ernest. There's all kinds of motion in it (dancing figure and refraction . . .. not to mention the turning-from-dark grey/black to silver/metallic with a shift in light).

oops, almost missed this (on account of Ken-spaztic whipping out his big ol' sense of humor) .. .

Yes, the hole shape needs to be different because the tooling required to make a hole in a triangle is very different from what all I can do to make a hole in a 1" thick rectangle. I'm sure there's some room for variation, and we can discover that along the way. This mod "holds" a lot of different ways (or so it seems to me from when I'm handling Gig's wood . . ..). It's actually real comfortable in both hands and with atty away or atty nearest . . . so there's something to be said for a hole that can be (wait for it . . . .. ) . .. . poked, from many positions and angles of attack.
