Funny you should bring up this discussion because (as Tami knows ;)) I'm about to make some nice Nuppin modifications which I'll probably post sometime next week. Stay tuned

I wish I could share with all of you but at least it will give you ideas to either try out or have someone else do it for you.

Hey BobC......is that new avatar of yours done in invisible ink.....like you know the old lemon juice trick where I have to hold my phone over a flame to read it?
It would be too cumbersome to hold my 30" monitor over a flame. Maybe I should try a heat gun?

Ok so I'll spill the beans and not have you hangin' for a week. I modded one of my Nuppins (the V1) to try this out and frankly I'm happy with the result. I'll probably make another DT but it's working great and with no spitback which I was kinda fearing

This is different, but the airflow is a bit like a router, even though it's a bit taller. That's what's often on my Nuppins - one of these, or a Router.

Looking for chuff caps for nuppin, maybe something close to this.

The Troll Chuff Cap

Sorta like a flange on the bottom, anyone have or know where I might be able to get a few?

Or these:
Drip Tip Set

No size listed on either of them.

ha, I tried to do that once but I made the mistake of trying it with a black nuppin cap, which I didn't realize until too late is actually aluminum  by the time I got the bore almost there the bit grabbed and mangled the thin flange of the aluminum cap as it ripped it out of the chuck  always meant to try it on another but wanted to make a whole new cap for that nuppin first :)

Yes the problem when you chuck this up is that you're chucking up a thin walled hollow piece so what I did is I turned a delrin insert and I used my 4 jaw chuck and not the 3 jaw just for some extra safety. Other thing to consider is that it's probably a good idea to use progressively larger bits and don't try to bore it out in one go. I ended up using 4 different bits then I finished it with a final pass with a boring bar on the lathe and then chamfered the inner edges

I was using a boring bar and shaving it progressively, not using drill bits. made it through the first few shaves fine but then I guess I got a little too aggressive and it just grabbed. the insert is a good idea
I didn't have a boring bar that small so I first had to use drill bits till the hole got big enough. I highly recommend you make an insert before you try the new one just so you can tighten the chuck enough without warping or bending the flange
