Yep got the Cellucotton as well and I must say I like the taste but I have a few concerns about health issues with it as it's not a natural product.
Understandable.

I had the same thoughts. But i tend to under squonk as the bottle empties. Which led to health concerns pertaining to burnt cotton and the frustration of having to pull over and change a wick limiting the amount of money I can make in a day.

CelluCotton won me over in that way.

RxW 2mm on MM single coil, lasts me half a year or more on a single wick/build :D

I use that in HRH's builds and she has managed 4 months from one set of coils and the wick is still fine. She dry burns it in situ once a week and carries on.

I use the 3mm myself and the wick is shot after maybe 2 months - but my coils are toast after about 3 weeks, so i get to re-use a lot of that wick too.

As for worrying about wick being natural or not...well, there's a lot of natural things that cause illness..

Okay, since I'm on a roll with stupid questions let's try another one. I have been on a quest for new batteries and finally bought some yesterday and AFTER I did that I took a good look at the batteries I am currently using. They have been in the rotation since January/February ish. Most of them still charge to 4.2 but a couple only 4.19. Does the age have an impact on the performance in spite of the numbers showing up on the charger?

Nope, voltage at rest is no indicator of the health of a battery.

If you assume that batteries can take 300-500 cycles of charging and discharging before they are knackered, then you'd expect one to last a year in daily use.

So i'm sure yours are fine.

When they get old and tired, they still charge to the same level, but under load (when they try to power something - like a coil of mine :) )they drop really fast to a lower voltage level.

This is because the internal resistance of the battery increases as it ages and is cycled. Basically, it's internals degrade and it becomes less efficient - and it has to overcome that internal resistance before it can do any useful work.

It is possible to buy meters that measure this internal resistance, but they are expensive and hardly worth it for vapers. I just get rid of my batteries once a year, if they have been in that rotation for that time.

As an aside - it is desirable for battery health for your charger to undercharge the batteries anyway, rather than overcharge them. Vaping batteries are nominally 3.7v, yet we are already used to pulling them off a charger at 4.2v.

They are getting charged 2X a day at the moment and for the last 2 months or so.........I may have worn them out. I am also taking Peters advice and changing coils today to nichrome so hopefully that will help a bit as well at least until the new ones get here. It is taking forever for the present coils to heat up.

Thank you T, that helped.

Yes, officer. I said I'm growing hemp fiber for my wicks. Nothing fishy going on here. Uh uh, not a thing fishy at all.

Hemp is not effectively psychoactive as the THC content is much smaller than its cousin.

Doesn't have the medical benefits as it lacks in CBD also.

ETA: Though it's great for making parchment, clothing and currency as the fibers are incredibly resilient and the fiber yield of the crop is very good in comparison to other crops.

Battery life is dependant on the amount of load, the total time under that load, the depth of discharge, and the charging voltage. Mild increases can be gained by reducing to 4.1V charge termination at the expense of power stored per charge. Staying below 70 to 80 percent of rated maximum continuous amperage will extend life. Charging before getting deep into the cycle will also increase life, but on a mech we change way before getting deep anyway. BTW, from what I understand if rated at say 300 cycles that means discharged to a manufacturer spec which is below where we change with a mech. If you only draw 1/2 of the rated power from a battery it will approximately double the cycles

Awsome fiber that has many benefits over cotton including larger yeald per acre and more forgiving to the soil. It was used for a very long time before various governments demonized it simply because of it's cousin. < kinda like ecigs huh.

sounds to me like something needs cleaning. (contacts, 510, battery noses, something)

How does hair help?

T
Smart Alec! I always forget what it's called. If I could use my gray hairs I'd have enough to supply us all!

Anyway, IT WORKS. I gave 2 of them a bath and soaked the Nuppins in tooth tablets, put the gray stuff on, built new .4 nichrome coils and WOW I'm back in business! These batterie may just last awhile longer. I am getting older than I care to admit. Remember when you used to laugh at your grandparents because they would say things like "I just had that roof put on" and in reality it had been 15 years? Well, I'm there!
