What's the difference between stabilized and specialty woods?

Stabilized wood is wood infused with resin under pressure. It renders the wood pretty much impervious to aging, warping and moisture damage.

Specialty wood is ….I guess wood intended for special use
(perhaps you're thinking of exotic woods which are rare species)

Tami's right. I first emailed PEter May 12th got on the list and started the conversation. He showed me examples with and sizes and process: Li’l PINCH reference: facts ‘n’ figures

Started looking for wood and went back and forth with Peter asking him to check stuff and give his thoughts. Settled on a piece last week and it's being shipped to him.

He approximated 10 months for mine. [edited because I can't multiply...and stuff]

So yeah, get on the list first.
