Ha! When family members see me holding any sort of tool, they run from the room in terror, like I'm the Texas chainsaw dude. The only tools I ever had were screwdrivers, hammers and pliers. And then I started vaping and I ran into these guys with lathes and drill presses and other fancy tools.[emoji46]

Considering its the wrong hand, I'd have to agree. That was an odd choice of the first finger to go!

I would have gone with the pinky on the left hand first. That would be my most useless finger.Actually it's a largely useless finger! [emoji58]

I'd definitely lose a finger if I ever operated one of these.

I just sent off a piece of wood to be made into a drip tip. After August 8 that would be a "new" product and illegal to sell. Same goes for any newly designed DTs even if it's just a new color or other design variation with no possible effect on performance or safety. After 8/8, the cost of the drip tip would exceed $400,000.....

Someone pointed out to me that government mandated safety stickers are racist.
It's always the white stick figure doing it right and the black stick figure doing it wrong.

Wanted to share some pics of the Clear Caps being machined. For my one off custom stuff, I dont CNC machine them, I machine them manually to add a bit of me to it, so each piece is unique and truly custom
This is the machine that the clears were run onAll chucked up and ready to go

First steps, facing the end and rough milling the bore:

Then I size the bore with a boring bar:

Now drilling the drip tip hole:

Now I turn the Outside to size:

Now I cut off the part to flip it over:

That leaves this:

I face the Part to length:

Then turn the drip tip to size:

Finally, part is done except for the slots and polishing up nice and clear

Off to the milling machine to do the slots.........
