should have called that ambulance days ago

mum is an early bird, when i hadn't seen her at 10am, i knocked on, and opened her bedroom door. She was collapsed on the floor, barely conscious. Called 000. She's in hospital, her body temperature was dangerously low, they were still trying to raise it at 4pm when i came home. They are going to run tests, very concerned about her weight loss [she's 37 kg] suspecting cancer

i'm a wreck

sorry to be a downer
Aw, I'm so sorry Dan! Sending good energy!

Sorry to hear.

I just went through a similar scare 2 days ago in Kentucky.

Though I was lucky.

I only had a kidney stone stuck in my ureter.

A bunch of morphine
Some stronger drugs
A LOT of water
A day in the hospital

And other than some discomfort all is seemingly well again.

Though it scared the snot out of the driver I was swapping trailers with. He took one look at me and thought I was dieing right there.

Sure felt that way.

Hopefully mum recovers just the same.

Sorry I didn't say something sooner. I'm not always good with these things.

Should have learned my lesson the first time.

That one took 2 surgeries and resulted in urinating pure thickened blood for a month and a half.

So I knew the routine.

Though they say it's like giving birth.

After being in the birthing room several times, I'm convinced.

I was shaking like a whole tree of leafs, freezing, burning and sweating like a whole commercial rotisserie full of chickens all at the same time.

Doctors thought I was crazy every time I wandered off to the bathroom.

What did they expect? I had to go. Literally had to. No other choice.

For good reason.

I've had internal bleeding from an impact tear/rupture.

I'd do it twice again to curtail 1 more lodged stone.

Multiply that if it's anything like my first stone.

Thanks Brian.

Unload away Doffy. I am not well known here, but I know this group, like others I know on the forum, are great, caring friends. That's what friends are for.

Hope your Mum is OK.

i've seen grown men on all fours crying because of kidney stones. It amuses me how everything is compared to giving birth, yet if that were so terrible nobody would do so twice. Yet they do.

Get well Beck and Doffy get your mother some chicken soup - everyone over 50 knows that that cures everything.

 One more crack about child birth not being so bad I might take your eyes out Trunkie!

The reason it happens more than once is because it's so terrible the womans mind cannot recall exactly how bad it was when it's over so as not to hamper procreation. As soon as the first labor pain hits with the next one it all comes rushing back and it's terrifying.
