I've been thinking about it a bit (not your weather; but the singing electrician), and I sincerely doubt he had any clue as to his PG/VG ratios and whatnot.
(so, not much point in trying to figure out what happened the last time)
I think it best to aid him in another attempt with some controlled variables and observations. (i.e. get him to try again and/but with a little experienced help)
I'll see what he thinks next time I see him.

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh...........do you have a recipe for the cucumber kimchi?

only in the sense that i have for anything, if you need specific measures, google has plenty

ingredients

lebanese cukes, or other good pickling variety
good, natural salt. It really needs to either come from the sea, or the part of the earth made of salt
garlic (lots)
ginger (ditto)
korean chilli powder, which is very similar to mexican chilli powder if you can't get it
optional dried or fresh chopped chilli

slice cukes lengthways twice (so long triangular bits) then into 2 or 3 inch lengths. Rinse it

in a big tub, put a layer of cuke, then salt, then cuke, then salt. Cover with cling wrap, then a tight fitting lid. Shake, and place in the fridge

you can leave it as little as 30 minutes, but you won't get the good healing qualities, so i do a couple of days

rinse off salt, put the rest of the ingredients. Steep again. Overnight is good, longer is good. But remember it'll only last 2 weeks max in the fridge

fish sauce is optional, just a splodge, but not for me

good with added match stick carrots too :)

We're in luck I have 2 pounds of the Korean peppers organic of course. I think I'm going to have to do this! AND 24 hours on the countertop with the salt instead of the fridge will really get the bugs going.

Quite. My limited experience with these things suggests that if he was like me 6 years ago then his mix was more likely very high pg - indeed 7 years ago i used a Silver Bullet (which is like a Vamo, only better) and a tank on top. That ratio was a 70/30 pg/vg and it was juice one bought.
When i made my own juice i started with 50/50 - to gather evidence. But tanks were a ....... to maintain c/f RDA's.

As for gluggy lungs such as Doffy mentions, well, COPD or emphysema are not good bedfellows for singers either i hear, so maybe he might be receptive to using something different. We were, and we are as stubborn and sarcastic bunch of ........s that ever patrolled the internet!

Cough more.

Yeah, still haven't seen the guy again (probably will wheneverishly); but today I had another thought on the matter.

If either PG or VG may be something that bothers him, then start by minimizing both.
Like a Juul; where it's buttloads of nic, and just enough VG/PG to make it runny.
Also/too/of-course, there's just less cloudz, and consequently, less unnecessary anything being inhaled to make the delivery.

Figure it's a good baseline for starters: both in terms of "so what's missing for you from this vape?" (heat, TH, volume, etc), and in terms of "adding" from there (if/as needed) and seeing what triggers any weirdness for him.

I got a Juul for the wife to try, like, early last year or something. It sits, barely used, three cartridges untouched.
So, he can try it for free.

So, I've got a different kind of question that most of you will probably not be interested in; but I'm not "sufficient privileges" to post it where it is on topic.

Do you think (@Alexander Mundy ?, @Rossum ? , @ Whomever ?) that the VV and the VW in this here Dovpo board are run by different electronics? (different chips that function differently)

I read where one of our forum members is all big on VV these days, because it makes a better vape in his experience than VW.
So, I thought, hmmmm, I could compare the two right here on this here mod.
I wonder if it's just the same chip functioning with different parameters, or is it two separate types of regulation completely?
I do notice a substantial difference in the quality of the vape btwn the two settings. I do try to approximate power levels to compare.

One of my juices tastes/vapes better on VV, and the other vapes like crap on VV and does great on VW.

... Or is it just how a same chip is delivering the load? (like, especially with the SS430 wire in there, I'm sure the voltage is ever-changing in trying to maintain a steady wattage)
