Man flavorless is the thing. I've been telling u that for a while (maybe in my mind?). Good info bee.I am, and still mostly barely-or-not inhaling on a mouth to nosey mosey.
something new . . . .. well . . . . I stopped adding flavors.
meaning to say that I've gone flavorless, unflavored.
this is kin'a silly; but I ran across that article about softening/damaging tooth enamel right in the midst of getting frustrated that my dentist has been telling me to "brush more like this" and "brush more like that" because I'm getting the beginnings of a number of cavities along the gumline. Not frustrated that he's telling me that. Rather, frustrated because it's another thing to deal with and I couldn't figure out what to do about it (good dental hygiene abounds with this kid).
So, anyway, I'm not just instantly swayed by the article without any other info on the matter. BUT, flavors are optional (although, . . .damn it . . . fun and satisfying) and teeth are nice to keep when that's an option.
the article was saying that VG seems harmless enough; but when flavorings are added into the mix, things spike.
"However, studies have shown that the combination of VG with flavorings produces a fourfold increase in microbial adhesion to enamel and a twofold increase in biofilm formation. (6) In addition, a 27% decrease in enamel hardness was demonstrated when flavorings were added to e-liquid as compared to unflavored controls. The viscosity of the e-liquid also allowed Streptococcus mutans to adhere to pits and fissures. In other words, e-liquid allows more cavity-causing bacteria to stick to a softer tooth and can lead to rampant decay."

Funny, I just posted in the orion thread about concerns with salts and tooth enamel. I come over here and our Bee man is talking about the same thing!
Nothing much. Just been able to ponder, mostly. I've asked a couple different dentists and have only been able to relate the acids to candy, (their nemesis, or provider - depending how you'd like to see it) and then apply that thought to acids in vape. They are completely unaware of vaping related questions or where even to find the info. I also asked my eye doctor about relations with vision and vaping. He was at least willing to look into his special vault of information called the internet to track down some vanilla answer for me. I haven't even thought of the flavorings. Perhaps I should explore the whole unflavored thing everyone keeps talking about. You mentioned an article of acids and enamel, you still got a link?what are your thoughts or findings on salts, TwistedScottle
I think most salts aim for pH neutral. So maybe less damaging than freebase?
YepFrom my understanding, the more nic you add, the more alkaline the solution and that is why they add the acid for salts to make it taste better. Are you saying that even though acids are used, its only used to bring the ph back to 7 and not really dip down into the acidic side of the scale?

yada yada - but no baseline of adhesion. 4x not much is err, not much more! Microbial adhesion... i guess they are in my car now...and i sold the last one for that reason."However, studies have shown that the combination of VG with flavorings produces a fourfold increase in microbial adhesion to e
