I just ordered my first heated Ultrasonic Cleaner. Christmas present to myself. (Seems I've been doing a lot of Christmas to myself this year)

What would be a good cleaning solution for the copper bits in the dibi's? Dish soap, alcohol, some kind of tarnish remover. Maybe something that works as a milder or diluted form for tarnish removal?

Are red O-Rings better than black Buna O-Rings? I don't think I've replaced an O-Ring in years. I'm thinking something tough, chemical resistant and slippery. (Keg lube?)

I've started a small collection of small MTL atties for my pinches. Most of them need a good cleaning first. I even acquired the illusive Chalice V2.

you mean the Beryllium Copper? I just soak that (those parts) in the brass pickle for a couple minutes (no ultrasound).
what was it? 2 parts Vinegar and 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide? Actually, all the parts (SS 510 parts, BeCu parts, Naval Brass) clean up pretty good with that.

That's what I have on a very old post-it stuck to the cover of my iPad. Using Vinegar with 3% acid content. Allegedly proven to remove surface lead content from brass as well.

I found it important to note since it kept coming up periodically back in the day. I'll try that first then since it couldn't hurt to remove any potential lead contents from the newly disturbed brass center pins you and Marcus so kindly provided for us.

The BeCu copper strips have held their sheen pretty well over time too. It's turned out to be a great choice in materials.

I'm only guessing but the brass pickle bath should work pretty good as a de-tarnish solution. The UC will most certainly remove the juice dribble film.
