I love my dad b/c he got me a horse when I was in high school even though it stretched his budget to the limit.
I'd always wanted a horse and he finally got me one. That horse was my best friend!

# 4 When I had my motorcycle accident when I was 18 and everyone including the doctors were comvinced I wasn't going to make it, you were there holding my hand talking to me while I was on life support and threatened everyone that wanted to discuss turning off the machines with bodily harm.. you gave me life .. i love my dad cause we have so much in common even though i was not raised by him. he knew about me...but as the man that raised me said to my bio father as a young man....seems you put your eggs in my basket....my eggs now. so bio dad never looked me up, knowing daddy and nobody else would tell me. daddy died when i was 17. i was told about bio when i was in my 30's. but we both have a sense of humor. we wrote a song....my sister has more sisters than me....and we are working on a tune called my family tree dont have many branches.

#9 I love my dad b/c he scrimped and saved to put us 3 kids through college , and provided a good home for all of us growing up. He taught us that we could be what we wanted to be if we kept our noses to the grind stone. I wouldn't be who I am today without my dad. LOVE U DAD ! (*;*)

I loved my Dad because he was so nice to my Mother. This taught me to accept only good treatment from the men in my personal life. Plus he married my Mom even tho she already had 6 kids! That man had either a soft heart or soft head! A better person than I.

2. My Dad PATIENTLY (and that is huge) taught me how to tie my shoes. I think of him evertime I tie them. Something for new dads to think about. Rebecca

3. My Dad used to take me to gun shows from the age of 3. He would buy me coins (quite common at gun shows) so I would keep my mouth shut regarding his firearm purchases. It worked, I never ratted him out. Guess he taught me not to be a snitch as well. LOL Rebecca

4. My Dad was cool with my love of all animals. He would even stop and move a snake (that was sunning on the asphalt) or a turtle out of the road. He was a hunter tho and we ate what he bagged.

5. I loved my Dad because after he got out of the service, and my little bro was born, he went to work in the meatpacking plants in Omaha and after there for awhile, told us that since hotdogs weren't really meat we could eat them on Fridays. Man I hated canned salmon patties! LOL

6. I loved my dad most of the time but he could be a real hardhead at times. I picked up this trait and have been able to accomplish so much more of which I thought I was capable

7. I was so proud of my dad. He received MANY medals and commendations during his long time in WWII, as a Army Air Corps member than Air Force when they split off on their own. Sadly he didn't speak of those times to his own children but thankfully he told his grandson. We only learned the true extent the hell he went thru and all the awards after he was gone.

8. I appreciated my Dad because when I bought my first house (another money pit, LOL) he gave me a tool kit so I could fix minor stuff myself.

9. My Dad was my hero on the day when I found a snake behind my chest-freezer. I called him and went out on my porch with a diet coke and waited for 'daddy' to rescue me. He came up and caught and released the garter snake. What a wuss I was!
