Nope :( he tried his best and re-sanded it but the bright color was gone. It found a good home a with a good friend here and its still performing like the champ it is . :)

Thanks guys. Here's my 18490, with 801 connector, "Mini Wanna-be Tesla". It doesn't have the poly coating. At some point I'll be sending it in for a sex change. I wonder if I should have Robert do a poly finish on it. Gil, did you have your's redone because the poly was wearing off?

Or is it maybe better to keep using the very hard clear paste wax I use on it? I can redo that over and over. (It's the Howard's Hard Paste wax without silicone or that very harmful solvent that some waxes have. It is just about the hardest wood wax I've ever used. Takes lots of elbow grease to get excess off and buffed out.)

Alice your mod has a different finish then Gils mod . I can make your mod shine like glass if you decide you want it that way . I was still learning when I made your 18490 I believe I used a lacquer on your mod and it didn't hold up well on the stabilized wood . When I built the vv woodvils I used a polyurethane on all the stabilized mods .
