1.0 ohm coils on aerotank mega with an mvp 2.0

hi everyone. i'm still pretty new with all the terminology and still learning the in's and out's of the vape world. i smoked cigarettes for about 14 years and decided to quit about 1 year ago. i started off with a cheap starter kit but struggled with quitting. i've upgraded kits over the last few months and have enjoyed vaping more and more as i'm getting better vapor production. i bought a vision spinner 2 a while back with an aerotank, and upgraded to an mvp 2.0 a few weeks ago. i bought an aerotank mega yesterday and ordered some 1.0 ohm coils online to go with it. this may or may not be a dumb question, but can i run those 1.0 ohm coils on my mvp? looking at some charts it seems that the coils should run at around 12 watts. its very possible i have no clue what i'm looking at and may be reading it incorrectly. i was curious as my mvp goes up to 11 watts and 5.0 volts. i do have a nemesis mod i can put it on but would rather use my mvp if possible bc i don't really trust the locking ring on the nemesis. it seems to unlock from time to time while in my pocket. any feedback would be appreciated. i was a lurker for a while but decided to sign up and ask the well informed community my own questions. thank you.

The MVP is a regulated device and like all regulated devices it is run by a circuit board that tries to keep you safe. This includes shutting down for a short and protecting the wiring inside the mod. To do this each mod has some specs that specify a range of voltage, power (watts), resistance of the load (atty), and an overall power(amps).

The first question is will it fire a 1 Ohm coil or does it think that is too low. I looked and can not find the spec for the MVP so I don't know.

Next the MVP has a 3 Amp limit. Using an Ohms law calculator at a 1 ohm resistance 3 volts will give you 3 amps at 9 watts. So even if it will fire you will be limited to 3 volts or 8 watts when you use it.

The Nemmy, on the other hand, is a mechanical mod. Nothing more than a switch and a tube.

Whatever you put on it will fire when you push the button. Safe or not. There is no checking of anything. So it is up to you and not the mod to be safe.

You need to know what the resistance of your coil is and then an Ohm's law calculator, Ohm's Law Calculator

Plug in 2 things and get the rest. Your 1 ohm coil and a fresh battery at 4.2 volts will give you about 17.5 watts. When the battery is down to 3.6 volts you will get 12 watts. So as you vape on a mechanical the wattage constantly changes.

Oh, on keep safe, with the fresh battery it will draw 4.2 Amps. Some older batteries will not support that kind of draw. The battery could overheat and vent gasses and destroy itself. You need to know a little about your battery.
