1.2 ohms at 14.2 watts is equivalent to 2 ohms at (fill in the blank) watts

Hello,

I successfully built my first coil and it actually tastes better than the one that was made for me by someone at a local store. Very proud of it, however, I didn't measure the wire or wraps and my coil came out to 2 ohms on a kayfun. The one that was made for me was initially 1.2 ohms used at around 14.2 watts.

I am currently playing between 16w - 20w but I wanted to check with someone first for safety reasons. Read 2 ohms on the meter, reads 1.9 on the Hana, neither reported a short. I am not even sure what it would be called, but I think I did 8 really big wraps and got it to work on the first try. Coil ends go from post to post and cotton is wrapped around posts.

Thanks!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the flavor and experience is not as good at 14.2 . The voltage is displaying as higher than that with the earlier coil, but I only seem to get the same experience with more watts.

Background info - have owned a provari until now, still learning how the whole watt thing works.

Perhaps I also forgot to mention, the coil rings are wider and sits perpendicular to where the original sat. Different build, different results at different wattage?

Here you go. Vertical coils!

I wish! The coil openings actually face the posts rather than out into the juice wells, so its perpendicular the other way. My cotton length was always causing problems, so I figured I could roll it almost in an S shape so the well was fully open yet the cotton could still pull juice.

As TCombinator said 14.2W. However you will need more voltage as the resistance goes up. At 1.2 ohms you need about 4.1V. For 2 ohms the voltage increases to 5.3. If you have a variable wattage mod just leave the setting at 14.2.

Its a Hana V3. It started to burn around 23 watts, otherwise it was surprisingly and unexpectedly good.
