Your right. The 1.5 dual coils draw a lot of power and are not recommended for an ego. There is a chance that it might fry the button, drain the battery much faster, and might even kill your battery.

Personally, I've used them on my ego and kgo and they've been fine. Although, if anything were to happen then I have 7 other devices to fall back on.

Anyways, WELCOME

1.5ohm dual coils have been fine on my eGo batteries. But then again I have 5 1000mah eGo batteries so i wasn't too worried about it.

I have found I like the 2.0ohm Boge Cartomizers as well and they are very nice on an eGo.

Basically if you want more throat hit then get the 1.5ohm Dual Coils. If you want more Flavor get the 2.0ohm Boge cartomizers.

would you guys know if that 900 mah battery in the ego is a protected battery?

Not sure about the eGo but with an eGo you don't got to worry about Protected batteries or nothing though because you aren't Vaping at a High Voltage. If you get an e-power you will have to worry about it and the ones that come with most of the e-powers are in fact protected and the e-power also has a vent hole in the bottom to be safe.

Let me explain why you should not use the 1.5ohm duals on an ego battery. This is a test that I did using an ego LCD battery that shows battery life and puffs taken. It's an 1100mah battery. According to the manufacturer, a 650mah battery should last 300 mouthfuls. I used a dual coil on the first test on the 1100mah battery. 191 puffs from fully charged until dead. Then I put on a Boge 3.0ohm carto after recharging to full capacity...496 puffs until dead. This shows that the low resistance wears on your battery power quickly causing more charging cycles. It also shows that the MOSFET is being strained. Soooo...I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you have the funds to constantly replace your batteries.

Then what pv can you use these cartos on? Just mods? Why do suppliers sell these saying their OK for egos?

I'm not criticizing your advice, I'm just truly curious.

They are OK for Egos but the low resistance does draw more current. Using the OHM's law formulas you can calculate it.

I (current)= E(voltage) / R (resistance) 3.4v/2.5 ohms = 1.36 amps

I (current)= E(voltage) / R (resistance) 3.4v/1.5 ohms = 2.27 amps

The higher the current, the shorter the charge life and the higher drain load on the battery itself. I use 2.5 Boge cartos all the time on my Egos. I find that most juices lose flavor at 1.5ohms. although some of the tobacco juices taste better.

I have tried several different dual coil cartos on my ego type and most hit too hot for me except the emdcc's seem to run a little cooler. The best duals for flavor and smoother hits though are the new 1.7 3 ml dual horizontal coil Echo cartos. The Echo DC has 808-d connector and the Echo-e DC has a 510 ego type connector. There is only one supplier that has them right now and that is MtnVapor but others are getting them in next week. MtnVapor has a special right now and is giving a free dc echo carto with an order of 30 ml of his new liquids and only 12.00 with free shipping. Mountain Vapor - High quality e-cigarettes, liquids and accessories.

Thanks! Makes sense.

Lets take that a step farther.
    3.4v/2.5 ohm = 1.36 amps = 4.62 watts
    3.4v/1.5 ohm = 2.27 amps = 7.7 watts

Now I'm not much of a "nay-sayer", but 4.6 watts is a pretty cold vape.
I set all my PV's, from 3.4v to 6v, to run at 8 +/-0.3 watts.

There are Dual Coils at higher than 1.5ohms, as well. Avid Vaper has them at 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5ohms. It's quite nice to have the range available to cover different voltages/devices/whatevers. : ) I currently have the 1.5ohm and 2.5ohm ones.

Could do without the clear, to be honest, but I'll live. Note that the clear ones are larger in diameter and the standard eGo cone will not fit over them. I think one of the eGo clones (goGo? kGo? sooo many of 'em) has a slightly larger cone that will work with the clear Dual Coil.

Only been using 1.5 ohm dual cartos for a week or so now, but so far no problems at all with my Joye Ego Mega batteries. In fact my wife won't give up her 510 mega's and she hasn't killed one...yet. In fact, she has three in rotation, vapes all day and is a happy camper. I could care less about shortening the battery life. Beats the hell out of buying us a carton of Marlboro's every 2-3 days

The standard eGo cone will slide over the clears I have (CE2) but it's definitely a snug fit - too tight to get a draw. All it needs is about .002" more to make it. I 'stretched' a cone by putting the small end of a 7/32" socket into it and tapping very gently. If you're not careful and give it a whack, it will definitely split the cone - the emphasis is on gentle tapping.

Once you stretch it, going back isn't out of the question, but it would be a pain.

I took the chance with it because I can get regular eGo cones locally and would have to order the others, just to see if I got the right one or not, etc... It was worth it to me. YMMV

Interesting, thanks for the info! The ones I have are definitely too big for my eGo cones without modification. I might have to try the stretching thing (I have some spares for the inevitable mistakes :p )

Like i said i havent had problems yet but we will see. Ill report back if i ever do, that is until my provari comes in because after that i probably wont be using my ego much lol.
I still use my eGo (with my Boge LR cartos) when I'm out and about (with the 18650 battery, the Provari is a bit more than I want to carry in my pocket).

At home, however, yea, it's definitely Provari all the time. I like the flexibility the 2.5ohm dual coils provide, in terms of voltage range - with the 1.5s (I think all of mine read 1.6 or 1.7 actually) it's pretty much 4V or less before the Provari 2.5amp cutoff kicks in. The 2.5s, I can do up to 6v, and it's a much cooler vape than a single coil at that voltage - and also a great way to burn through any spare juice I have laying around, wow. :)
