Dani I know you have mentioned eGo batteries elsewhere. You can't use those 0.8 ohm coils on eGo type batteries. The batteries simply can't handle a resistance that low.

Also the circuit board in the EGO's cant handle low resistance. I smoked 3 EGO's before I found out one of my GS-H2's was at .65 ohms. Thankfully FastTech sells the circuit boards for them.

Hello,

I have bought ten 1.8 atomizers (because it was the original that can with the Genitank Mega) but then I went into their B&M store where they recommended a 0.8. I bought five 0.8's. I was so overwhelmed by all the information they taught me, for the life of me I can't remember why they told me to go with the 0.8. However, I DO remember them telling to use up all my 1.8's before moving down to the 0.8 because I wouldn't want to go back.

What is this and what is the rationale? I'm so sorry for all of these questions, I hope there isn't a limit on how many threads one can make in a week.

Thank you,
Dani

The 0.8 ohm coil heads will increase the amount of vapor (and therefor nicotine), you get from each "drag" you take. With faster vapor production a mouth to lung inhale will be more like smoking a cigarette, a two to three second drag is all you need. Because you will be inhaling more vapor and nicotine, the "throat hit" of your juice will increase slightly. Don't worry, your Silver Bullet and Efest batteries can handle the 0.8 ohm coils just fine. Simply install the coil head, fill your atty, sit back and enjoy, you're in for a treat.

Firstly as others have said the 0.8 should be fine on your silver buulet, but that doesn't mean you will like it better.

Secondly I totally agree with the comments about these low resistance coils being put on standard atties. Vaping is getting enough bad press without throwing another potentially dangerous thing in the mix and maybe most ego batteries will just not work with them there will be enough that are going to fail that a bad failure is very possible. Must admit if it wasn't for the fact that it looks bad for everyone I would not be bothered as IMO if you use anything without at least a basic understanding it's your own fault.

Dani don't worry about making too many threads, you are doing the right thing trying to get yourself a good set up and keeping yourself safe, much better to ask a stupid question than to miss asking an important one.

Dani, the easy answer is this:

You haven't wasted your money; your 0.8 ohm coils will come in handy, just not right now. Keep using the 1.8 ohm ones and keep reading the forum. In a fairly short time, you'll start to understand the difference between 0.8 and 1.8 is in practical terms. Whoever sold you the 0.8 ohm should have asked you how experienced with vaping you are and explained everything a bit more clearly. However, don't be disheartened. It's inevitable that once you gain more experience as a vaper, the more it'll all make sense. I don't mean years down the line either; it's just a matter of weeks.

And don't be afraid to continue to ask questions! It's one of the best ways to learn.

danibanani, this is not aimed at you directly, but I have to say...

that I am sick and tired of seeing new vapers being sold things that they just should not have. There is absolutely no reason for a new vaper with zero knowledge of the intricacies of the science behind vaping to have a mech mod running sub-ohm coils. This BS has to stop or someone is going to be seriously injured.

Norrin, as always, thank you for your knowledge and reassurance on some issues I don't know about. You are always so kind to me as well (as most of the other members), and I appreciate it so much.

I'll try the 0.8's in due time, but for now I'm going to enjoy my 1.8's :)

Take care,
Dani

I love love love this answer. Dani, you definitely did the right thing by posting your question on this board, and I'm glad you decided to stick with the 1.8's. It was highly irresponsible of that shop to sell you sub ohm coils when I'm sure they could tell you were a newbie at this. Nobody should even consider sub-ohming until they have a good understanding of ohm's law and battery safety, and even then, mistakes can happen.

You are not the first poster who's come on this board stating they have less than 1 ohm coils and in the next sentence, ask what what sub-ohming is and how it works. This hobby has enough controversy behind it - we don't need to add fuel to it. The last thing our community needs is a story making national headlines because somebody's battery explodes in their face due to negligence on the part of a vape shop who just wants to make a buck.

Dani, I'm going to make a humble suggestion. Before you let anybody else in a B&M shop sell you anything, come to ECF first and ask all the questions you want!! I'm a new vaper myself, and although I had been chomping at the bit to try out some new stuff, I wasn't about to put any money down or buy anything until I understood what was what. Fortunately, there are some really knowledgeable members here who are great about answering questions for newcomers. That's why my eyeballs are hanging out of my head. I've been reading, reading, reading, oh, and did I mention, reading some more.

YES! Thank you so much. Now I know to come to this forum first. They just made it sound so awesome I had to get it. It was more of an impulse purchase. I will FOR SURE come to these boards before I purchase anythingThank you for your insight.

Take care,
Dani

Dani, if you hang around here long enough ,you'll know if someone in a vape shop knows what they are talking about or not;)

There is one here in my town that i'll go in and see what they have in there, and i have to grit my teeth at some of the dumb crap that they will try to say to me..

They sell these mechs mods and batteries and different gauge wires and drippers and steamers and 50 and 100 watt box mods and don't have any idea about battery safety or ohms law or much of any of it themselves..
Juice sittin in a glass display case with the sun beating down on it every day it shines, just killing the juice they invested in..

Any questions you have, the answers will be here for sure..
I learned that from googeling my questions and this forum popping up in the top of the list every time lol

The only way you will know if you like it is to try it. The lowest I went was 1 ohm dual coils. I did not like it at all. I am good at 1.8 ohms or around 8 watts on any particular ohm single coil (using a variable device).

I always like the shops(in any field) that say you won't go back after you try it. They are right.. I generally don't come back.

Vaping is an individual thing. Depending on what you want it for, you can go that route. I used it to quit smoking, pure and simple. That is what it did and that it is all I want from it. I don't need more or particularly want more. Try and decide for yourself.
