Hello All,

Does anyone mix there PG and VG first to test how it vapes before mixing flavors?

I was thinking of doing the PG and VG first for vapeness and then mess around with flavoring.

What do you think...

I noticed a few viewers but no answers so I re-framed my question if that was confusing people...

Thanks A

Ah, yeah. I premix all my PG/VG no-nic. I have 3 bottles I call Low, Med, and High. Low has a 90/10 PG/VG while high has 50/50 and Med changes, but hovers around 70/30.

I don't fret with what my exact PG/VG ratio is in the final mix as it is unimportant to me.

Some flavoring is helped by higher VG. Some is better with lower VG. Some flavors decrease vapor and some increase vapor. When making a mix, I have a note if I used Low, Med, or High so I can hit what I want again.

YMMV

Do your flavors change after adding nic? I have some 20%VG flavors I was going to use in experiments. My target was going to be 12mg. So how would you compensate for flavor dilution?

No, my flavor doesn't really change with the addition of nic.

I've never heard of 20%VG flavorings.

The nicotine solution, flavorings, and no-nic base are combined at the same time in the same bottle so each is compensated for within the recipe.

(Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding here.)

I bought some 0mg Nic flavors. They are premixed to 20%VG by TV. I was going to buy some 24mg Nic pre-mixed at 50/50 PG/VG.

So I was going to mix at 2.5ml Nic + 1.5ml PG + 1ml flavor for 5ml e-juice at 12mg Nic.

I realized since the flavor was cut to 20%VG, I would not stay at my target 20% flavoring by the calculator, so should I bump up the flavor % from 20 to say 25% on the calculator or just experiment til I find where the best is?

Sorry, but you're confusing me further.

You have premixed juice at 0mg with 20% VG and premixed juice at 24mg with 50%VG... I don't understand where the flavoring come in. If you are using TV's doublers and juice it is just a matter of mixing the nic containing juice with the no-nic "doubler" to hit your nic level. They are both already flavored. Adding 20% flavoring to a flavored premixed juice... Well, I guess that is where I get really lost.

(I think I'm further away from the questions than I was... Anyone else understand?)

I will try and explain, but I think I have my answer. I would need to adjust my ratio for more VG in my Flavor if using a doubler. So maybe 85% PG / 15% VG when using a 20% doubler is the same as 75%/25% when using pure flavoring.

The OP was about mixing pg/vg first for the best VP/TH (I am assuming here).

So lets say I like 75%PG / 25% VG.

Now using that standard DIY calculator I have http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php

It asks for a Nic base...I have 24mg
It asks for a Nic level...I want 12mg
It asks for a end amount...I want 5ml
It asks for a target flavor %, ....I choose 20%.

The recipe is 2.5ml Nic, 1.5ml PG/VG and 1ml of flavor = 5ml of my 12mg nic juice.

I am assuming this is only true if I use a flavor..not a pre-mixed juice of Flavor+VG.(doubler)

Since my Tasty Vapor apple flavor is already cut with VG into a doubler flavor, then both my flavor will be diluted and so will my original PG/VG target of 75%PG / 25%VG if I use that calculation to make my final e-juice.

... I'll be using TPA flavoring which I believe has PG in them. Does anyone know how much PG is in the flavoring from TPA. Thanks

Hello Hoosier.... Thanks for your help on prior posts...

Just assume the flavoring is 100% PG if you want to calculate final PG/VG ratio.

Glad I could help with something.
