It all really depends on how it's being measured -- by milligrams of nic per volume of vapor/smoke, by milligrams of nic absorbed into the body, by milliliters of juice consumed, by # of puffs, by impact on health, etc. I don't see 1ml equaling a pack of cigarettes on any of those scales, but I guess I could be wrong.
The
CDC says there is anywhere between 8mg - 20 mg of nicotine per cigarette, so we'll use 12mg per cig as a middle ground. Here's my analysis with absolutely no scientific value:
Cigarette
3-seconds puffs per cigarette = 10
Nicotine per cigarette = 12 mg
Pack = 20 cigarettes (200 puffs & 240 mg of nicotine)
If we go off of this, then a PAD smoker can vape 240mg of nicotine a day and be on level ground. This breaks down to:
- 6.6ml / 36mg juice a day
- 10ml / 24mg juice a day
- 13.2ml / 18mg juice a day
- 20ml / 12mg juice a day
- 40ml / 6mg juice a day
- 80ml / 3mg juice a day
All that being considered, the closest analog to a real cigarette, in my opinion, is the following:
Cigalike / 808 Vape Pen
3-second puffs per ml = 50
Nicotine per ml = 24mg
Pack = 10ml / 24mg juice (200 puffs & 240 mg of nicotine)
