1 month in...

Hi All,

I started vaping just under a month ago. The story goes like this: I had successfully quit for about 8 months, but derailed huge when I learned that my wife had cancer. We had a really rough time throughout her treatment, and somewhat ironically, I guess, I started smoking again in secret to relieve some stress. We had very little family support throughout the worst times, so I was basically looking after my wife, working, running the household, and looking after our daughter. I guess old smokey is just always lurking in the shadows.

On a lark, a grabbed a gas station disposable e-cig when purchasing my usual clandestine tobacco supply. It wasn't awesome, but I saw the potential. That led to a local B&M and an eRoll, which in turn led to an eGo/stardust. I've since scored a couple of spare batteries, a couple of Vivi Novas (my current fave), a Pro tank, and a lot of different juices.

I think I've reached the point that in addition to getting my nicotine, I have started to see vaping as a hobby as well. I'm gearing up to purchase my first mod, which will most likely be an Innokin Itaste SVD.

All in all this has been a pretty great experience and I'm glad to have found this forum. Lots of interesting stuff going on here.

Looking forward to hitting my post quota so I can start participating more broadly.

Well Congrats and I do hope the Wife is Doing Better...You already know the Basics and see that most any question you have Can Answered here..It is Definatly a Hobby that Taste Better and is strange to people once you get into the MODs...

I'm also a bit over a month in. It was tough first few weeks still having a couple analogs in the am. It seemed I needed that kick start in the morning. I the. Got past that for almost a week then had to out down a pet of ours I was close to, that derailed me for a day but since then all had been good. Zero cigs in last week and basically zero cravings.
Welcome aboard and I pray the wife is doing better and you continue your abstinence from analogs.

The SVD is one sexy looking beast . I was looking at that, or the Innokin MVP. Went with the MVP, figured it would be easier to recharge on the go... but it was a very tough call!

Are you getting just the mod itself? Or the one that comes with iClear30's? Either way it's a win, but I've enjoyed the iclear30 that came with my MVP so was just wondering . No experience with the vivi or pro-tank yet.

Vape on indeed! I had a few of my old brand a few days after getting the eRoll, but didn't much care for the taste - a huge surprise to say the least. Aside from that, I've 100% made the switch (almost three weeks solid now). Going from a PAD, I feel about a million times better. Good to hear that you're no longer craving analogs, too. In my case, I found that the draw on the eRoll was too tight, which was why I went back to the analogs. Moving to a slightly bigger system made all the difference in the world for me.

I agree that it is pretty sexy. I've researched out all of the common ones (eVic, vamo, provari, etc.) but when I saw the SVD, I knew that was the one. Initially, I thought I'd just go for the mod on it's own, as I'm very happy with my Vivis (which I can get parts for locally)But then I watched PBusardo's review of the bundled iClear 30s, which was pretty darn positive. Now I'm a little bit torn - it would be fun to try them, but if they become my go-to, I'll have to stock pile a bunch of backup parts just in case. Also, funds are on the tight side due to losing an income for the better part of a year, so sticking with my existing tanks for now will reduce the overall cost of the upgrade (i.e. the money that would have gone to the innokin tanks will go towards batteries and a charger instead).

bah, if the vivi's work for you and they're stress free having parts locally, I'd just stick with that myself. The iClear30's are nice but not crucial. Maybe a cool gift to yourself down the road if you need something to pick you up.

At least that's what I'd do . You can't go wrong either way!
