I posted this in my introduction thread, but might as well put it on here.
I had been smoking for 21 years. 2.5 Years ago I bought an eGo-T type e-cig, but it didn't quite work for me: not consistent enough, not enough vape in general and for some mystical reason VG was making me cough with that system, but I did get a good throat hit when it did work correctly. Still, it was no more than a tool to keep me from going mad at work and during long car drives (I stopped smoking in the car when I changed cars 2 years ago.)
Fast forward to 3.5 weeks ago, I bought an aspire tank and some fresh juice for my eGo kit. I went down from 21+ cigs a day to less than 10.
2 days later I bought a VV eGo kit and gave my old eGo batteries to my GF so all she needed was a 10$ tank and some juice. She went from 6 cigarettes a day down to 3 the same day.
10 days after that I stopped smoking completely. The feeling of being able to do things without needing a "breather" (10 minute breaks that included a cigarette) gave me the will to put the morning cigarette down without lighting it up.
I've been smoke free all that time with one very small exception: one day my GF wanted a cigarette, so I took 2 puffs off of hers because I didn't want to taste it while kissing her. I wasn't tempted to take more as vaping tastes so much better.
I still cough up some phlegm a few times a day, but nothing like before and I'm not almost choking on it anymore. I can do activities without being out of breath and I actually need a break because the muscles hurt, not because I'm out of breath of my heart feels like it's going to pop out of my chest. I can smell some things I haven't smelled in years and boy was I glad I wasn't sitting next to that guy who probably rolled in rotting garlic just before he got on the plane (for some reason I couldn't get away from him on the way to the baggage claim).
I do have some cravings for a real cigarette every now and then, but vaping makes that go away in minutes. I still have that (now stale) pack with 7 cigarettes left in it in the fridge and I was really tempted to have one earlier. I'm keeping it mostly because I don't want to spend 10$ on a pack I might have no more than 2 out of. I read in some thread that the 3's are the hard part: 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months... it's been 3 weeks. Perhaps a new juice flavor would help but I'm holding on and I definitely don't want to start again.
