I used to be a pack a day smoker. About 6 months or so ago I cut back to half a pack a day with some vaping mixed in. The only reason I was able to cut back to half a pack was because I stopped smoking in the house since my sister was here with her one year old daughter (her husband was in Iraq and she saved a bunch of money by staying here while he was gone).

I just got an Ego-C a few days ago and two days ago I brought it to work. I only smoked 4 cigarettes that day.
Yesterday I smoked a half a cigarette at 7a.m. and it didn't taste that good (I thought it took a week for them to start tasting bad). After getting to work I was 400 yards away from my truck when I realized that I left my cigarettes in the truck and said to myself "I guess I'm not smoking today." I had the safety net of just getting one from someone at work if I got to really wanting one so I wasn't too worried about it. I had that hungover feeling all day, the same as when the stomach ache goes away and you just feel spaced out. I also burned up two tanks of juice that day (they only hold 1ml). I had a dilemma all day, I felt like I kinda did want a cigarette but I also felt like I kinda didn't.

That half a cigarette was 25 hours ago and the last of the four the day before was 14 hours before that. Here's hoping that I have the will power to stick with it, and here's hoping that I start getting some some home runs on good juices instead of all the strikes I've had on the 20+ flavors that I already have. The only two juices that I have that I can say are an all day vape for me are 3&5 from Misty Mountain Vapor and Voodoo from Freedom Smoke USA. I'm thinking about getting a few flavors to try out because of the reviews on them, they are Bobas Bounty, Bounty Hunter, Copper Creek House Blend and a few from Backwoods Brew.

Vaping just takes away the desire to smoke. All you have left is the habit and an ecig will satisfy that. Getting cigarettes out of the house makes it much more easy to completely quit.

Good for you and stick with it, if you can. But if you do slip do not beat yourself up. Just get back on the vape train and keep going. I use a Reo Grand and it has a 3ml bottle on board so I can vape all day and not worry about running out. It also has a 18650 battery that goes for all day. I needed to set myself up this way to maximize my chances of making it.

As for juice I do recommend Backwoods Brew. I am vaping their Applewood Tobacco mixed with a touch of Malty Tobacco right now and it is great. The Applewood Tobacco is good right out of the mailbox. I have found most juices really do need to steep for days before I find them any good. And this does include the much praised Boba's which I got yesterday and it is steeping awaiting another test vaping.

I appreciate what DaveP said about banishing the smokes from the house but my brain is wired differently. I keep a pack of smokes on hand as it somehow gives me a safety blanket feeling just knowing that should I freak out and need one they are there. Different strokes and all.

    Best of luck to you!

I'm not really a fan of the apple juices but they have a honey flue nut that I was thinking about getting. I know exactly what you mean about having a pack around for a little mental security. I don't want one but it's nice to know they are there.
I still have that hung over without the stomach ache/headache feeling though. That made it a little challenging to focus on that golf ball earlier but I still did alright.
I got some Jogglers juice, vape me softly and blend #8 from Jogglersjuice.com and I don't really care for any of them but they were born on the 25th of last month. I tried the Jogglers Juice yesterday and while it is better I still don't see myself hitting it more than once or twice. I wish I wouldn't have dedicated my new tank to it without trying it first.

I see it's been said, but I will say it again, "good for you and stick with it!"

49 hours. I told my fiancee (non-smoker) how long it had been last night and she told me to stop thinking about it. I said "look, this is motivational because I've never gone this long without a cigarette." Non-smokers just don't get it.
My bottle of 3&5 started getting that perfume taste with both cones on the Ego. I cleaned the atomizers with hot water then gave them a 1/2 hour sonic bath and tried again, still tasted like perfume. I took one apart, rinsed the coil, dry burned, rinsed again, dry burned again, rinsed the wick and gave it a kiss with a lighter and tried again, still tasted like perfume. I loaded a new atomizer and got the same thing. I hit my dual coil cartomizer and no perfume taste with the 3&5. So I was thinking "Uh oh, maybe my Ego-C has issues. I changed juices to a mocha coffee one and there is no perfume taste, hmmm.... I've used about 15ml out of a 30ml bottle of that 3&5, why would it just now taste like perfume? It is a light colored juice and I think it has a high PG percentage in it.

I was a pack-a-day guy too, for over 40 years...sometimes a bit more than a pack. I've had two analogs since December 1, and neither one was particularly satisfying. My wife has, thus far, been unable to make the transition, due to chronic stomach problems which are aggravated by vaping (we're still working on it), so I buy cigarettes just for her. When I "feel like a smoke," I pick up my GLV and have a few drags, and I'm a happy camper. I know that if I had an "emergency"--out of juice or battery power with no backup--I could have one of her smokes, and go right back to vaping.

Just be sure to have some batteries charged, plenty of juice, and your PV with you all of the time. I carry a little bag with batteries, charger, and a variety of flavors.

I know all about the cheering on deal. Every time I've tried to quit I would tell people and fail after half a day. This time I didn't tell anyone for a day and a half and now I'm sitting at 66.5 hours without any desire to smoke one.
One thing I do have a desire to do is figure out where this perfume taste is coming from with my 3&5 (the place I got the first two bottles from said its the same as 555) and occasionally the Voodoo (residual 3&5 in the atomizer I guess). The first half of the bottle tasted great but now, not so much unless it's in the dual coil cartomizer.
I have about 15 different "meh..." bottles of juice open with the caps off on a shelf and I'm going to leave them like that for a week or two. hopefully that'll do the trick. Then again, I have seen where a hot water bath will give immediate results in the way of steeping but I'm not sure about doing it that way.
I got some more mocha coffee earlier and it seems to have a bit of a stronger flavor than the last bottle (not as much like coffee but stronger). It's not bad but not an all day vape either. So I switched to USA mix for about 1/3 ml then to voodoo and man that mocha coffee taste is sticking with that atomizer. I'm back on the dual coil cartomizer now and I think I'll take it to work tomorrow to see if my 650mah battery can handle it for a 12 hour shift plus 45 minutes travel time to get there and back. So I'll have my spare battery as well in case it can't.

I get what you mean, I kept a single cig in the dashboard of my car for a month...it was just there in case I needed it...I think it also helped that each day as the cravings diminished, the cigarette got more stale...finally I threw it out, cause I would rather vape then smoke a stale month old cig...

Oh, AMEN on that! I finally reached the point where I didn't WANT to tell anyone that I was quitting, because I started to find the "good for you" junk to be downright condescending when coming from folks who had NEVER tried to kick an addiction..and even from a lot of ex-smokers.

And then there are the "telephone counselors": The Lung Association in a state in which I once lived had a free patch program for a while. You could get a full six-week, step-down supply of patches IF you consented to telephone counseling. I found the "counselors" WORSE than worthless: They always sounded like young women in internships, who had never had to kick an addiction, reading from a script filled with platitudes about deep breathing and drinking lots of water. Sheesh...I was doing pretty much ok until one of them called; but talking to them ALWAYS made me want a cigarette.

Talking about a condescending attitude, I don't know whats worse between the "good for you" and "its about time" comments or the "cough, cough" and an evil look when you're 20' away and upwind.

My fiancee gave up on trying to get me to quit a few years ago. She asked me a few weeks ago why I smoked and the only answer I could think of was that I liked it. For me the habit has always been stronger than the addiction and that's why I am more fond of atomizers/juice that put out massive amounts of vapor.
