100% pure PG laxative powder?

Sooo...I'm walking around the drug store seeking out a bit of VG and come across a few brands of powdered 100% PG laxative without any inactive ingredients.

If I dissolve this stuff in distilled water will it work as well as PG liquid? If so, what should the powder to water ratio be?

Dangerous stuff, this PG.

I think it's used as a fiber supplement, so I suspect it's rather benign. Unfortunately, it probably won't add much TH to my VG e-liquid, though.

I asked a pharmacist for propylene glycol and he assured me this was the same thing.
Thankfully I read the label or who knows what would have happened.

And as a side note I will NEVER go to that pharmacist!

Polyethylene Glycol is AKA PEG. PEG 400 is sold as a vapor base, those who object to/are allergic to/don't want PG or glycerine use PEG 400 without a problem (at least, none have been reported).

A quick internet search on polyethylene glycol powder laxative shows it to likely be PEG 3350. The smaller numbered PEG are liquid, the higher you go, the thicker it becomes until it is essentially a solid.

So, no, powdered PEG would not be "reconstitutable" with water for vaping.

I'm not sure how that would work with the powdered PEG, but I HAVE seen polyethylene glycol eJuice!

A few companies let you choose between a VG, PG or PEG mix in their juices.

PEG is sold by brand name as "Miralax"

PEG works in the intestines by bringing more liquid to your intestines via osmosis. I imagine it could do the same in your lungs, so I'll stick to VG, although I'm not sure to what degree, but it is used! I don't know the percentages, although I'm sure it's floating around here or somewhere on the web. It is water soluble, so I'd used sterile, deionized water to dilute it if you try it...

I would use caution though, as it may bring fluid to the lungs, yet PG & VG may do the same, and if done to a VERY small degree, it might make a good vapor in dry summers & winters?

Heck, with eucalyptus and/or menthol it might even be great for coughs!

Ever used Vapor Rub? Hmmm... This might not be such a bad think, but I would certainly do some homework on this one!

Google PEG eJuice and you'll get over 8,000 hits, so yep! it's being used!

Hi again Lyn and all...

I did find an interesting product/info on Amazon...
It's called, "ToxiBan Suspension with Sorbitol" and says it may be useful in treating ethylene glycol poisoning in dogs, cats and small animals.

I looked up the ingredients & it is 70% Sorbitol, which is used to sweeten eJuice, but seems to also be the active ingredient in Toxiban...

I'm not sure how or even if this would work with polyethylene glycol, but would be interesting to look into!

It might make a detox for the vape & sweeten it all at the same time, or it could be a not-so-good idea.

Perhaps someone making the sweeter flavors could answer this?

This product is made for pets, but it does make me wonder about having a Miralax mixed drink sitting around where my cats could get into it???

When using as directed, it does take a while to dissolve, but might be a really inexpensive (and possibly even a very safe vape?)

It might be worth crunching some chemical equations & doing some homework on this one! Might result in an even safer vape possibly? Hmmm...

I don't see why you would want a name brand product with possible additives that's really meant for other purposes. Not only that, but PEG is a general term for a huge range of different sized molecules which have a huge range of boiling points. The PEG in Miralax is PEG 3350 as sjohnson said, and that won't vaporize. The PEG I've seen for e-liquid is generally PEG 400 or somewhere near that.

Also, VG draws water out of your body probably as much if not more than PEG, and also can be used as a laxative. The relatively small amounts you get from e-liquid is why it doesn't have much effect on most people.

Actually, you can choose from some retailers to get a PEG, PG or VG vapor mix, so polyethelene glycol is being used in some commercially available carts already. What form is used is beyond me at this point. I'm guessing a liquid form, and Miralax does tend to be a bit grainy if you drink it right away, but after time, it makes the drink you mix it in taste a bit syrupy - YUCK!

Also, it can flatten a soda in about a minute, so there is probably a liquid form, although if you let it sit in deionized water or even distilled water long enough and at the right temp., I imagine you can get it out of its solid, powdered form.

If nothing else, it works great as a laxative, but so does VG!

Hmm... Interesting question! Might be worth a try on a refill cart? So if you trash the cartridge, you can just toss it. It might be a great way to DIY?
