Im an all VG vaper as well. recently tried Virgin Vapor's all vg and could not be happier. crystal clear, no thinning was necessary for me. actually the best vg consistency out of the bottle i have tried yet. reminds me, i need to send her a thank you.

I second giving Virgin Vapor a try if you want some great 100% VG premixed juices! I have been vaping her stuff since April and don't use any others. Her flavors are awesome and I am someone who can't even vape a drop of PG, so I know hers are true to what she says she makes them with!!

For reasons undisclosed I cannot have drinking alcohol in my house. Does rubbing alcohol work? I'm a strict VG user and thickness is sometimes a problem. Or any other non alcohol ideas that work? Don't care about throat hit all that much.

You can thin with distilled water, but then need extra flavor added to compensate for the water. My vendor actually thins mine for me with distilled water and adds the extra flavor, so they work great.

(sorry for posting so much in your thread OP, I'm just a big VG person :))

I would not do this. Some people have said they have done it, but it doesn't seem safe.
We don't drink or otherwise consume rubbing alcohol, why would we vape it?
Just about everything in our e-liquid can also be found in food.

Distiled water. VG and PG are both water soluable, it will work. Finding the fight persentage .. well, that will also depend on the secific juice. Good prophits sells some VG claimed to be as thin as PG. Haven't tryed the stuff myself, so I can't comment other thein I kinda want to try it.

Oh, and other things you might want to try are PEG-400 and Dipropylene Glycol. I've seen both used in e-liquids. Di-PG is supposed to produce thick vapor like VG, but it is said to give the same amount of flavor and the same kind of TH like PG. If you're allergic to PG, you may or may not be allergic to di-PG. There's no telling unless you try it. Both PEG and Di-PG are more expensive than PG and VG.

You should be able to get di-PG from any chemical supplies store. I know you can get some from Twój liquid - Skomponuj swój zdrowszy dymek, but it's kind of expensive ($21 for 100 ml).

You can get PEG-400, which is a lot cheaper but still more expensive than PG/VG, from
PolyEthylene Glycol-PEG 400. Pharmacopoeia-Grade 60ml
DIY MIXING PEG 400 liquid polyethylene glycol
ELiquid shop - Pure PEG400

Thank you for starting this thread. I too am trying to sort out a possible allergy. But my scenario is quite different. I am hoping others can chime in here.

I have been vaping for 6 months and have been analog free ever since. 30 year smoker. My symptoms started slowly. Mild, occasional skin rashes. Not bad enough to complain at first. Some days no symptoms at all. No headaches. But very slowly the rashes have gotten worse.

Now, after 6 months, the itchy rashes are getting bad enough to wake me up at night. They're in the usual places for rashes, between the fingers, behind the knees, under the arms, etc.

I have heard of new vapers getting symptoms right away. But I have never heard a vaper describe symptoms that increased slowly over 6 months.

Of course it could be something other than vaping. But has anyone ever heard of allergic reactions to PG taking 6 months to really surface?

Thanks, JJ

How about looking at what flavors you're vaping and their ingredients? Many flavorings have additives. Currently on a mission to find all natural flavorings.

Good luck!

JimmyJet, it might be a good idea to assume you're having a problem w/pg or certain flavorings and start trying alternatives. It seems reasonable to me that a chemical like pg or any other could possibly build up in your system over time and cause a reaction you may not have had before. Pg is used in a lot of other stuff, including food products, shampoos, etc., so you might just be getting an overdose. I'm just guessing -- still very new to all this. I think it might be good to find a couple 100% VG premixes you like and see if no pg for a while solves it. A couple people in earlier posts recommended Virgin Vapor. I looked at the site today, and the stuff is all organic and you can make sure of 100% VG base. It is expensive but worth a try. Others have also recommended the Johnson Creek Red Oak juice line. Lots of good info has been offered by others in this thread. Hope it helps you, too.

Yep, JJ it took that long for my body to revolt from the PG. Rashes, rashes, rashes. Sore throat, dry mouth. I switched to 100% VG and it all cleared up in a week! Well, except for the dry mouth. That's just a vaping thing. I'm now an Alien Visions junkie. At least give it a try. Good to see another of your posts, bud.

Hey base-man, great to hear from you as well. And thank you very much for sharing your experience. I'm going to try straight VG for a while. Sure can't hurt to try. I am so ready to be over these symptoms.

Boba's Bounty, here I come.

Thanks, JJ

Hi there,

Do you use cartomizers or atty's? My wife had similar issues which did not show until she had been vaping for about 6 weeks. We went through the elimination process and it appears that it was the nickel in the atty's that she was reacting to.

She does get a reaction to VG, however that is different. The nickel reaction was mainly seen as a rash, which she does not get from VG, that give her flushing in the face.

Might be worth checking that out if it is still happening. She now vapes a 70 / 30 PG / VG mix in either Boge carto's or some other dual coils and she has been fine ever since.

On the VG juice. I have been vaping 100% VG since I started. did not work in the tank system (eGo-T), so went to carto's. Work well in there at 100% but me being lazy I got sick and tired of filling all the time. Went to dripping which was great, but not very convienent, so have no gone to a bottom feeder.

Can be touch sometimes to plunge 100% VG as it is very thick, however I love the copious amounts of vapour that it produces :)

Another venfoe you might wish to try who mixes to order and also using many natural flavours is FlyingV who wons Copper Creek. If you do a search on the forums you can find a thread about her store. Great flavour, great CS, so might also be worth a shot for those who are after VG only.

On 100% VG, if you do get it and it is too thick for your desired vaping method, try adding about 3% - 5% of pure grain alcohol (PGA) or high proof unflavored vodka. Roughly 1 - 1.5 ml added to a 30 ml bottle of eliquid. Shake it up after. If it is still too thick for you, add just a bit more, but only about 0.5 ml. The net result is noticeably thinner eliquid, with small impact on flavor and strength.

This is a pretty small amount, to measure it you can use a small oral syringe, commonly available at pharmacies (ask at the desk, they may give you one free, or check in the area for children's medicines -- they often have small ones for use with babies).

Richard, thank you very much. As I have been searching ECF for clues, I had already found and read some of your old posts from May/June. But I had not considered the hardware. I will tuck this away in the back of my brain.

I too started with eGo-T's then moved on to Boge cartos. As of today I am vaping VG only so I'll give it a week and see how it goes.

Thanks, JJ
