100% vg questions

Few questions.. I've been wanting to try 100% vg. I have had good results with 50/50 and 65/35. Maybe its in my head but the higher pg I use, the more my sinus and breathing get funky. I have bad seasonal allergies but it seems worse. Coughing more, chest tightness and mild throat irritation. Can I expect a huge mute of flavor with vg? Does the lack of throat hit bother others using vg? And how severe is 100% vg going to cut my atty life? What is life of atty vs pg based juice? Thanks in advance.

I have alot of the same questions. I just ordered from Velvet Cloud because their juice sounds so good, but I like 50/50 or 60/40 and their juices are 100% vg. That's the only reason I waited as long as I did. I know they use a small amount of distilled water in their mix and they are supposed to wick well. I just hope the flavor isn't muted and they have a good TH. I ordered at 18mg nic. I almost did 24mg thinking the TH might be better. I guess I will find out. I'll be watching the thread, too....

People will say VG doesnt effect the flavor, but let me tell you, it DOES. I started vaping all VG liquids, and was just not that impressed. I would read the reviews for each juice with customers raving how tasty each was, and all of mine (ordered with MAX vg) just didnt taste like anything. I accidentally ordered my usual Vanilla Ice Cream from MTBaker, but didnt select VG and got it in 80 pg/20 vg and WOW, now I see what it is supposed to taste like. Now I just cant go back to VG, even though high PG can make me phlegmy. The flavor with all VG is just bland and barely there, no matter how many flavor shots you add. I thought it was just my taste buds or maybe my tanks, but I use high quality tanks. VG mutes all flavor and not just a little, it literally destroys it. Plus, the thickness will burn out wicks at a faster rate. I like to order my juices now with 50/50 or higher PG and use my orders of VG vanilla ice cream to smooth them out or to make the fruity flavors have a cream taste to them. Bottom line, VG is great for people with a PG sensitivity, but it will kill the flavor almost to being tasteless. Ive tried many vendors, with the exact same results.

PG supposedly carries flavor better so a mainly PG mix should need less flavoring to get an impact on the tastebuds. Also VG is reputed to gunk up coils more easily.

That being said I have a few primarily VG vapes in my rotation that have good flavor and in the past have vaped PG stuff that didnt taste like much of anything.

For the most part VG is a smoother vape so you will get less TH unless something in the flavor is causing it (like menthol flavors or Boba's.)

I have a bottle of HHV Blade that I had them mix at 30/70 PG/VG that has no throat hit to speak of but is delicious and creamy. The vapor it makes is billowy and silky.

I like VG.

I think a lot of this depends on the flavoring also. I have only been vaping for a short time, but from what I have tried I seem to be on to something. My best vapes so far have been 50/50. I stated with a 70pg/30vg and it was ok but not much flavor. Now I am vaping mostly 50/50 and find the flavor better. However, with that said I have found that some of the lighter flavors come through better with the 70/30. I have a pineapple upside down cake that is better in the 70/30. Anything that has vanilla or caramel I like better at 50/50 as those flavors are stronger and carry well. I also notice that 100 VG vapes way hotter than with PG. This will affect the flavor. I have Boba's and have to turn my wattage way down so it doesn't burn. I like Boba's but will not order anything 100% VG unless that is the only option such as Boba's.

Something else I have noticed is that my desert flavors are better with the 50/50 because the vapor is thicker which leads to a better mouthfeel. Someone else used the term silky, which I would agree with. Something you would come to expect from a cake or desert. With the fruitier flavors I am ok with more PG because it seems a little lighter which reminds me of the refreshing qualities of fresh fruit. I might be crazy, but that is my opinion. Lol!

The Heather's Heavenly Vapes purity line does not use pg as the flavor carrier at all so it's not dependant on pg for taste. I've tried them at 70/30 pg /vg and I've found no difference in flavor from 100%vg but I prefer the mouthfeel of 100%vg .I find the throat hit more dependant on nicotine content than pg/vg ratio . I haven't heard too many complaints about Bobas Bounty having a lack of flavor or throat hit either . I also don't have any problems with wicking or coils gunking up with the juice from Heather's . But to each their own I'm simply relaying my experience and opinion on this topic for what it's worth .

Flavors like Alien Visions' Boba's Bounty and Gorilla Juice and Johnson Creek's Red Oak line are max VG and deliver a constant and strong flavor and throat hit. I don't know if these folks are adding capsicum (paprika or red pepper) or something else to produce the throat punch, but it's there.

One thing VG does is mask throat hit, which allows people to up the nic level in their liquids and vape without coughing up a lung. Most of my PG-based liquids are at 12mg. My VG-based favorites are 18mg and boy... do they seem to deliver a wallop.

I tried Boba's Bounty at 24mg early on, and it almost made me woozy. When I was finally able to hit them with an open shop, I ordered 18mg, knowing that I'd be happy with it. I am.

I prefer the vapor and flavor production of VG liquids. They seem sweeter, with a stronger mouthfeel and aftertaste. My DIY projects are all either max VG, or VG with 30% distilled water.

I love Velvet Cloud Vapor and am never out of Night Shift! There are a lot of variables to consider before saying that VG does not hold flavor, blah blah blah. I have loved quite a bit of VCV's line, not to mention Boba's Bounty, which is also 100% VG. I have yet to have one of their juices that was not bursting with flavor. With that being said, they know their ...... They actually make all of their juices to be 100% VG. Same thing with AVE. Maybe some vendors 100% VG juices don't taste as strong as their VG/PG blends. However, you should feel pretty confident ordering from Velvet Cloud.

If you order from a discount juice supplier, like MtBaker or ECBlends, you may get what the above posters are telling you.

I have not noticed my 100% VG juices gunking up my gear any faster than my VG/PG blends. The VG juice does take longer to wick, so after you fill a clearo, give it some extra time to get to know the juice.
