100w worth it?

Well this tootle puffer isn't annoyed at all. (read my post above yours)
In fact why is it that you seem to be so annoyed that some of us like to tootle puff?!?
Well it sounds like the OP picked a IPV 70 watt which I have on the way for a friend. The 30 I have and its great and battery life is ok. That 30-70w range would be unkind to batteries I think. But he doesn'y plan to go much over 35-40 so I think he will be ok.
Now 100w boxes are where its at. Twin batteries. Something I don't think is understood is that a 100w box can be run at a lower wattage. If I still had a Nautilus I'd run it on my 100w box all day. I currently have a Taifun on it at 25w. 90% of the time I vape at 30w. I never, and by never I mean NEVER, go over 40w.
A dual battery box mod has a real good feel in the hand. Lady hands may be different, I don't know as I've never had them. But a normal sized male will find there hand feels empty without it. Plus it doesn't look like your sucking on, er, a piece of pipe.
As to high watts, thats a case by case thing. We are all different. I can't get a decent vape under 20 but over 30 isn't that great either and over 40 I'm out. I have hit a Atlantis at 80w with the .3Ω and its not for me. But they sell a ton of them so it is for someone. The flavor is fantastic I'll admitt but to warm. Which brings us to temp control...................
I have TC. I do not use it. I plan to try it as I'll try anything. Most people I know buying new mods are buying them with TC with an eye towards the future. But nobody I know uses it. That will change in a couple days as a buddy ordered a Subtank with the nickel coils. I will of coarse try it. Honestly I don't even know how to turn it on yet. More will be revealed.
Lot of exciting stuff happening in vaping these days. All but one of my smoker friends now vapes and we been supporting the industry ourselves it seems. But I really think 40w's is plenty for alot of people. I don't need more but I do need battery life. How about a 40w twin 18650 mod with temp control available in pretty colors. And made in the USA. Something like a Hana Modz which is gonna be my next mod pending my upcoming questions about them.

I can't handle a hot vape either. It's all in how you set it up and how you actually vape it. I'm running dual vertical coils in this Hellboy .7Ω at 55 watts and it's just right. I want a Derringer but I'm afraid the small chamber will result in too warm vape but i've tried a friends and it's not but I'm not as good at building as he is
Hi Robot and welcome to ECF. I have two of the IPV IIs and really enjoy them. I recently picked up an IPV 4 and I'm running a Herakles by Sense on it. One of the nice things about this site is that you will get plenty of help and opinions. Take what you want and ignore what you don't want. Only you can decide. As far as tanks, I have and use Atlantis, Atlantis 2, Kanger Subtank Mini, Herakles, and a host of others. They are all great for what I want them to do. I also have a few drippers that I use on occasion. I chase flavor and also enjoy throwing a cloud or two. My taste differs as far as juice goes. I love vaping and am so glad that I got off of the stinkies. Have fun and vape on. PM me if you have any questions or just need a chat. 
I'm just annoyed by anybody who has a problem with or insults how somebody else vapes. Doesn't matter if you have an MVP 2.0 or Sigelei 150.

I have a Hex Ohm V2 120 watts. Frankly I have never used more than 30W. But I do have 120Ws.
And I have 150w on my SX Mini if I use my battery extension. I generally vape in temperature mode. 450*, 50 joules. I've never brought it above 60w in wattage mode.

If you are vaping regular 3.7v tanks and such a 100w mod isnt needed. If you are looking to get into dripping or using sub olm tanks a 100w mod is definitely needed in this category. I personally use a 150w Sigelei with my Matrix sub olm 5ml tank, or my swirl fish RDA.
I disagree. There are many of us who are quite happy dripping or using our subtanks at 50W and under. Now, if you want to get into super sub ohm vaping (like .2Ω and under) then yeah, it's fair to say that a 100W mod is necessary.
I spent a lot of money starting out on things that were garbage. The 100 watt mods are super nice: awesome performance, long battery life. But if you are going to be using a tank they sometimes fire too many watts even at their lowest setting.
Ipv mini v2 is sweet fires at 5 watts has changeable battery. But you take a performance hit with a single 18650 battery. At least in my opinion. Still a great mod to start and will handle a nautilus all the way to a dripper with a pretty big coil. But at 70 watts you will eat batteries quick.
Nothing says you have to fire a sub ohm tank at 40 watts. You can just dial it way back to like 10 or 15 watts and get a vape that doesn't make a new vaper cough their head off.

I like having more than I need, that way I can grow into it without constantly buying new gear. When I first started I blew a ton of money on stuff I'll never use again. Even though my 150 watt box was way more than I needed at the time I have found that it offered the flexibility to support me as I learned and carry me on as I advanced.
I'm not sure if you mean a Kanger Subtank . If so yeah you can dial the power down. But the newer sub ohm tanks won't fire with wattage that low.
Sure they will. It just takes a bit longer to heat up the coils and the vapor is not as dense. I can fire my atlantis at 15 watts on my sigelei or 10 watts doesn't matter. Vapor production to a seasoned vet is minuscule but it still works.
Atlantis is a older tank. The new generation sub ohm tanks running .2 or .3 ohm will not vape at 10 or 15 watts with any device that only? allows 10 to 12 second hits period
And a Nautilus will produce 10 times the vapor at that wattage than a lot of the.6 coils for these new tanks. I've tried just for arguments sake because I have most of them
I just tested Atlantis2 at 15 watts. It fires a little but no flavor and less than a tootle puff worth of cloud. It fires surprisingly well at 30 watts compared to what I anticipated, weak on flavor but a nice little cloud.
