Maybe I've just missed it, but is there such a thing as a 110 volt (household current) and/or a car pass through? If not, I wish there was. For truckers or long drives a car version would be great, and for couch potatoes like me, I could sit and watch hours of TV and never use up a batt if I could plug into the wall. I know there's a thread for things we'd like to see in hardware, but I'm hoping these already exist.

Thanks Majestic - I guess that's why we have forums. They really are cheap!

You're more than welcome. I do frequent road trips and use the 5v cigarette lighter power source religiously. You can vape the whole trip and not worry about battery changes. It takes the hassle out of recharging. Down side, you have to plan your pee stops to coincide with cartridge refilling. :)

I'm assuming these specific adapters you linked to worked for your PT? Because I ordered both (from monoprice) that look identical and they won't heat the atomizer. Works for charging the battery though..
If these worked on a PT for you please confirm, I would try it out.

I don't know about Monoprice, but I brought the ones in my link and they do work. If fact in my Chev van I use a 3 foot USB extension cable on my PT since my cigarette lighter socket is so low to the floor and it still produces excellent vapor.

I bought the car charger and it works, but it makes the throat hit REALLY weak. It does not work as well as the passthrough power pack.

Did you buy from the company in my link or from another company that has something that looks similiar? I've brought the USB car charger that is pictured from that vendor and it definitely puts out 5v @ 1000mA for good vapor production. In fact I fried an atty on it when I got distracted driving and forgot to release the button on my manual Pass Through.

I bought off the web and it was 5 volt 1 amp. I only tried it once, but it seemed like I wasn't getting the good throat hits, BUT I'll try again with a higher mg juice. I don't see how the one I have could differ from yours.

I can't complain about mine and I'm using 11mg juice in my PT. The only time I had a problem was when I tried to use a cheap USB extension cable with it. The cheapy cable caused too much of a drop in the volts/amps. I finally switched to an extension cable with thicker wiring.

And how did you get that cable? I only have the cheap usb passthroughs from China.

I'm referring to an USB "extension" cable, not the cable attached to the Pass Through. I have a 3 foot extension cable that I use for plugging in flash drives when I work on laptops and when vaping on the road. In my van, the location of the cigarette lighter socket is low to the floor. By adding an extension cable between the power source and the Pass Through gives me some extra free play to move around.

Click here for an example of what I am referring to.

Thanks I'll probably give it a shot. What's strange is that the one from monoprice looks the same and is priced the same to the penny IIRC and tha includes the total after shipping. I wonder if it's the same company. Mine says max 1000ma which isn't the same as 1000ma obviously. What about your's?

I bought a combo pack called Zip-Linq from Micro Center a couple of moths ago for about $12. One is for the wall outlet and the other is for the cigarette lighter. They are rated at 5V/1.0A and they both work great for me.

I also have the Kensington power pack that I got from Best Buy on sale about the same time for $39.99. That is great for on the go. I don't really use my batteries much any more.

Hope that helps!

On mine, other than Made in China, it lists the Input as DC 12v - 24v, Output as DC 5.0v +/- 5% and Max 1000mA which is more than enough to power a Pass Through.

Another possibility, is that yours is defective and isn't putting out a full 5v, 1000mA. When you plug it in is the red LED illuminating on the charger?

My specs are exactly the same, I suspect I have the same one. The led lights up and it does charge the battery it just dosen't work to heat my m401 atomizer. Could be mine isn't giving as much, might have to get lucky with these, could be my car, I have to try it in another car, (not that it will help me), could be my atomizer, what atomizer are you using?

I'm using it with my DSE 901 which has the original 901 style atomizer on it.

Another possibility is the battery charging. Try using the USB cigarette light plug-in with a full charged battery. Possibly the 1000mA can't support battery charging and vaping at the same time with a m401. The Pass Through on the DSE 901 doesn't have a battery, it's just a Pass Through to provide power to the atomizer.
